Kei laid his back on the wall while waiting for Mirai to come and open the sweets shop. He's 10mins. early like he was for the past 4 days. His new job has given him more interest in cooking and... well... his new boss.
He couldn't forget that day they met. The week before and after Satsuki left was absolute emptiness for him. He couldn't think straight and he didn't know what to. But he found light... and it was so bright and beautiful that he wanted to keep it.
Not long after, Mirai's car halted and parked in front of him. She opened the door and stepped down from the car. Kei's face immediately lighted up.
"Ohayou gozaimasu! (Good morning!)" Kei politely bowed down and greeted her. "Ohayou!" Mirai smiled back at him.
They entered the shop together and prepared everything up for its opening. They conversed as they set the place up.
Mirai started with arranging food on the shelves and Kei swept the floors. Mirai glanced at Kei for a few seconds and turned her back as he swept closer to her. She wanted to ask him something and now is the opportunity. She shook the hesitation away and took a deep breath. "Aragaki-kun, I-- I'm just curious, the special girl you did all of this for, is she your girlfriend?" Mirai asked trying to not sound nosy. "Girlfriend?! Oh, no, no, no. This is all for my sister" he sniggered. "Sister..? So, from the very beginning, from the 1st time we met, the girl you were talking about is your sister?" Mirai couldn't help but raise her tone in surprise. "All this time, you thought it was my girlfriend, huh?" Kei chuckled and he looked at Mirai. "Yeah!" she laughed and took more pastry from the basket on the counter. "I've never had a girlfriend." said Kei. "Honto ni?! (Really?!) That's somehow unbelievable! You look like a real romaticist!" Mirai gasped. "Now that, is unbelievable" Kei smirked. "Why have you never had a girlfriend?" Mirai asked. "Hm... well... I have no idea."
"So basically you haven't asked a girl out on a date?" Mirai asked again.
"Nope"
"You haven't confessed to a girl ever?"
"Nope"
"Are you serious? You haven't even, kissed a girl before?"
"I just have 5 days ago." Kei smirked and Mirai pursed her lips in an embarrassed manner. "Of course." She laughed.
There was a pause as they kept glancing at each other, waiting for one of them to speak.
"You wanna go out this weekend?" Mirai asked out of nowhere.
At that moment, the waiters, waitresses and chefs came in all at once. "Oh... have we interrupted something?" one of their pastry chefs asked and they only smiled at each other.
Mirai stood behind a tree near a bench. Her heart pounded against her chest as she caught sight of Kei walking towards her direction. She was getting nervous and excited at the same time.
Kei stood on his spot in front of a bench then he took out his phone to contact Mirai who he didn't notice sneaking just behind him. "OHAYOU! (Morning!)" she jumped and yelled in her highest pitch. Kei's shoulders shuddered and he looked over at Mirai. "Kao! Kao suge na! (Your face! Your face is amazing!)" she giggled mischievously. "Ohayou" Kei grinned at her. "Come, get in!" Mirai gently pushed him at the back towards the car parked near the tree. "Eh, you brought your car with you? Why?" Kei asked, finally realizing he had no idea about where they are going and what they're gonna do. "I'm in charge today~! I've planned this day through for you so you'll follow my lead!" Mirai said in a bossy but to Kei in a cute tone. "Like you're the boss again, huh?" Kei narrowed his eyes. "No. I'm your date" Mirai smirked and walked to the car to open the driver's door and she hopped in. Kei jogged to the passenger's seat and he went in. Mirai drive on.
