He didn't need to wait any longer because she came soon. She jogged towards him and Kei stood up to greet her. Instead of saying 'Good afternoon' though, Mirai circled her arms around him and she sniffed on his shoulder. "Mirai? Why are you crying?" Kei asked with audible worry in his voice. Mirai shook her head. "Nothing... let's just... please stay like this a little longer." Mirai said under her breath. Kei was happy but also worried. So he embraced her tighter and they stayed like that longer.
They sat down the bench, Mirai's head rested on Kei's broad shoulder, her tears all dried off. "So, what happened?" Kei asked. "My parents came home today. But they only stayed for a little while just to ask how the bussiness is going and how my sister's studies were. They only visit when they're not busy but they leave as soon as possible. My sister hates them a lot because they did something very bad to her. Whenever they try to talk to her she shouts and yells at them impolitely. I hate them as much too. Because they caused so much pain to my sister and to me all the same. But I can't shout and yell at them like she does. I should try my best to be polite towards them so when they give me things, I can share them with my sister. It's not like I'm tired of doing that, that I cried. I'll never be. I just hope my parents change." Mirai explained. "You're a good sister after all... But when you get tired of catching all the pain, I'll be here. Because you've been there for me too, right?" Kei held her hand. It's not because he wants to pay for what Mirai did for him. It's simply because he adores her and he's ready to do anything for her.
It was another Monday. Satsuki and Taishi left early to school and they climbed to the rooftop s soon as they got there.
"Uwah~! This is a nice view, right?" Satsuki stretched her arms and breathed in. "You've been here a lot of times, howcome you're only saying that now?" Taishi smirked. "That's true. Nee, Taishi, what if the clouds were cotton candies. The hills and mountains are made of cakes and-- and at winter the grounds become different flavors of ice cream? That'd be so cool!" Satsuki thought out loud. "Are you a 5 year old kid?!" Taishi laughed and so did Satsuki. "And it'd have oceans of caramel chocolate, and the fishes would be made of popcorn"
"I see, so there would be literally swimming caramel popcorns huh? And the chocolate raindrops would rain down the caramel sea?" Taishi added. "Un! Then there would be lollipop trees all around bearing candy drops!" Satsuki beamed. "Your imagination's so impossible~" Taishi said, then Satsuki sighed, her smile gradually fading. "Eh, no I didn't mean it like--"
"Lollipops reminded me... Mirei's birthday is this month." she smiled sadly. "Really? Great! But, what's wrong? Why do you sound unhappy?" Taishi asked, perplexed. "I just hope she's happy on that day." said Satsuki.
Mirei skipped towards the doorway. All of the maids around were surprised. "Ms. Mirei, you're going to school?" the butler gasped in surprise. "Un! I'm going~!" she waved at them and left. "... what a miracle. She's even on time." one of the maids said, still not believing her eyes.
Seeing her sister like that again was such a thorn in the chest. Mirei only didn't go to school because that's the main reason why they forced her to stop writing music and to break up with Taka. It wasn't even the course she wanted for herself. It's a road her parents put her on even if she didn't wanted to walk on it. But today she thought, Mirai's more important than her rotten feelings. At least her love would reach her sister by doing this unlike her feelings for Taka... they might never reach him. Anymore.
Days have passed.
Mirai and Kei spent their time at work together. They've become closer because of the trust they gained and gave each other. They were indeed very different but they met. And that was enough to give them a similarity... They fell in love with each other.
It's been rainy lately. A lot of people might not like it but a few people do, for some reason. Two of those few people are Taishi and Satsuki. They've spent rainy days like always. Dancing around and snuggling after. It wasn't gray or sad at all. That's what made rainy days a lot better is that whatever the season was, they'd be together.
Mirei is happy now. She was the way she was before. Moving on is a process and she's almost through it. She'd think of Taka and some things remind her of him and their relationship but she's fine. She now sees him as a great memory. The pain and hurt is gone although she's still hoping that someday, if they were really for each other, that someday will bring her back to him.
Kei and Mirai walked, holding hands. "How is it now? Your family?" Kei asked. "My sister's going to school regularly now. It was a surprise but I guess her mind's not that cloudy anymore. I told my parents that and they were... relieved. I was expecting them to be happy but that was the most of what their emotions can hold." Mirai gladly shared. "I see. That's great, then! I'm happy for you." smiled Kei. "How about you? Have you apologized to your sister yet? Hey, it feels like we've been spending so much time you're forgetting about that." Mirai pouted, somehow worried. "No, no. It's taking me long but that's because I'm trying to look for her. I'm kind of panicking trying to find where she is but I don't know where she could've left."
Mirai stopped. Now that he said that...
"Kei?"
"Yeah?"
"Won't you come to our house tomorrow? My parents are dropping by, I'd like you to meet them!" Mirai invited, smiling. "Oh, sure! I'd like to meet them too." Kei agreed.
Oops.
