#13- Shocked

Annabeth's POV

beep beep!

I groaned and shut off the alarm clock. Another day had begun. I grabbed my phone from the bedside table and picked it up. 3 new messages

Luke~ hey babe! I had lots of fun last night 😉 u still sore?

The next message came about 8 minutes after

Luke~ where u at? plz, tell me ur not at someone else's house. u know how I feel about you going places without telling me

The last message came from about an hour ago

Luke~ im coming to ur house if u don't come to school and u better not have anyone there

I sighed. Over the past few weeks, he had grown very overprotective. I stood up and immediately sat back down. Whoa. Nauseous much?

"Dad? We need to leave soon. Whoa," I said, clutching my stomach.

My dad walked in. "You okay sweetie?" He looked at me. "Yikes. You sure you're feeling up for school today?"

I grunted and stood back up. "Yea I'm fine. I have 3 tests today that I need to take."

My dad smiled and kissed my forehead. "That's my girl."

I smiled and headed to the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror and frowned. I play volleyball so I'm usually pretty thin, but I've been looking kinda fat recently. I slipped on a hoodie and walked into the kitchen.

I ate a piece of toast and checked my phone. I had about 5 minutes before I needed to leave for school. I also had one new message.

Luke- I'll see u at school. sit with me at lunch

I sighed and turned my phone off. Just another day.

~time skip to lunch at school~

I sat with my friends Piper and Thalia. They looked like opposites, but they got along really well. Piper was drop-dead gorgeous and everyone liked her. She said she was saving herself for the right guy though.

Thalia has spiky black hair and electric blue eyes. She doesn't date, but I think that's because everyone's scared of her.

"Hey, Annabeth!" Piper called. "Come sit with us."

I walked over to them but Luke grabbed my arm. "Cmon babe sit with me. I feel like we haven't been spending time together lately."

I rolled my eyes. "We just saw each other last night. Plus, I wanna sit with my friends."

Luke let go of my arm, but he seemed angry. "Fine then. If you don't like me anymore, just go spend time with them instead. U don't like me anyway. We're over."

He got up and walked away. I stood there dumbstruck for maybe 5 minutes before Thalia grabbed my arm and dragged me to their table.

"What happened?"

"He said we're over."

Piper looked at me, her gorgeous eyes wide. "Are you ok?"

I thought about it. "I've been thinking and I don't think our relationship was very... two-sided. He was just using me to... ya know..."

Thalia seemed angry. "I'm gonna kill him!"

Piper covered her mouth looking equally angry. "Did you two ever... ya know... do it?"

I grimaced, remembering last night. "Yes actually. I thought he loved me but I guess I wasn't good enough."

Thalia sat up straight and looked at the table past us. "Don't look" she warned, but it was too late.

Luke had this other girl wrapped in his arms and was kissing her. She had brown eyes and black hair. Drew Tanaka, captain of the volleyball team.

I covered my mouth with my hand. I can't believe it. Out of all people, why her?

Drew caught us staring once they broke apart for air. She looked at me smugly and wrapped her leg around him.

I jumped up and ran past them. I walked into the bathroom, eyes full of tears.

I sat down in the stall and got out my phone. I was about to text my best friend, Percy when I heard voices.

"It's not true!"

Oh no. That voice sounded familiar. It was Drew!

"We've been dating for a while but he just broke up with Annie bell today. They did you-know-what last night but I guess she wasn't as good as me." Her voice sounded smug.

I stifled a sob but I couldn't help but make a tiny whimper.

The room went silent. I suddenly heard a knock on my stall.

"Who's in there? Get out! I'm trying to have a private conversation here!"

I had finally had enough. I walked out and smacked her in the face. "Listen you little *bleep* I know that you're just using Luke. Or he's using you. You're both just little *bleeps* that don't give a *bleep* about anyone else. So shut the *bleep* up about me, and go make out with your boyfriend."

I stormed out of the bathroom, leaving Drew and her friends with dumbstruck expressions on their faces.

I ran into someone when I went around a corner. It was Marlee and Carter. They were the school's cutest couple.

"Annabeth? Are you ok?"

I sniffled. "Not really. My boyfriend is dating my nemesis and she is ruining my life. And... I think I might be pregnant."

Marlee was shocked. "Wow. And he left you?"

I grimaced. "I don't know for sure, but all the signs are there."

Marlee looked at Carter. "I'm sure someone will come along for you. I think that boy, Percy, likes you" she smiled.

I blushed. It's not like I hadn't considered him, but Luke wouldn't let me talk to him. Luke wouldn't let me talk to any boys while we were dating.

"Really?" I asked, my voice an octave higher than usual.

Marlee grinned. "Of course! Your amazing and nobody would hate you."

I grumbled, "I'm pretty sure my experience with Drew just proved that wrong."

Marlee feigned confusion. "What do you mean?"

I smiled brightly. "Nothing. Nothing at all."

Later that day I messaged Percy. I explained what had happened and I went to the doctor. It turns out, I was pregnant! About a month after that, Percy asked me out. We hit it off and started dating. I  gave birth to Kyle Chase 6 months later. A week after giving birth, Percy proposed. I said yes and we got married a year later, on the day Luke and I broke up.

As of right now, Percy and I are expecting twin girls. Kile doesn't know that he's Luke's son, and I'm going to keep it that way. Luke left and moved to San Francisco after high school. Some people say he died, some say he's still waiting for me to come back to him with our son.

But looking in Percy's eyes, I know that I am home.
