Lan Zhan found that forcing the statement that he liked Wei Ying, though far beyond his comfort zone and definitely something he had not intended to do, and putting the words to his emotions definitely difficult, and hating the stutter that had come about when he had said it, was definitely worth the discomfort that it had hailed. He was not one that enjoyed miscommunication, even though it often occurred considering his difficulty to force his thoughts into words. His mind was alight with so many, yet the ability to force himself into speaking what he thought was infinitely more difficult. Speaking was a complicated subject to him, and interacting with people, it was also incredibly difficult. He knew that it was likely to do with the isolation, but even then, XiChen was so much better at it then he was, and they were raised so similarly. Despite that, he had breached his comfort zone with Wei Ying, not wanting any sort of miscommunication to plague his thoughts. It was a good thing that he had done so, as well, considering it would seem that Wei Ying had allowed the gossip and the poisonous words of his adopted brother to get to him. Not that Lan Wangji could blame the other for allowing it. It was not something that would be his fault, Lan Wangji just wished that he was better at communicating, and perhaps that uncertainty would not have flooded his thoughts. The only thing that he could do is comfort himself with the fact that he had stopped that in its tracks, despite the uncertain and trembling way with which he had done so, he could not find himself to regret it.

Furthermore, the atmosphere between the two was so...well, it was not all that much different, but it was definitely more relaxed now that they had cleared the air. Lan Wangji knew that Wei Ying had been worrying, and yet, he was not quite aware just how much it was that the other had worried whether he disliked having the boy around until after they had admitted that it was anything but the opposite. Wei Ying flitted about him far more comfortably now, speaking in low, but fast tones. It was a library after all, and after having to calm him down a bit and indicate for him to lower his voice Wei Ying did so with ease. Now aware that it did not mean that he hated him, but rather that he wanted him to be a tad quieter given their surroundings. Eventually, Wei Ying had settled opposite to his desk, reading the text upside down, swaying slightly side to side as he did so, humming at odd intervals. Lan Wangji stood a bit pulling Wei Ying to sit next to him, rather than having him attempt to read the book in such a ridiculous way.

Something that Wangji had begun to realize, and was really rather glad that he did, was that for all the way that words had an affect on him, actions had far more of one. He took value more so in the actions that one did then the words that one said. It was one of the reasons why he was so frightened of Jiang Cheng, for all that the Sect heir could say he had not meant something, or had not intended for something to go the way that it had, his swift-to-anger attitude, and borderline cruel actions towards Wei Ying, and the constant dismissal caused Wei Ying to believe that perhaps he was not entirely welcome. That combined with the way Madam Yu spoke to him, and the severe punishments he was given, and Jiang Yanli's general desire for him to just gloss over everything...however it was not like he could leave. Lan Wangji was aware of that, not yet. Though he fully intended to figure out a way that he could stay away from the Jiangs. Not entirely sure how he would do that, but he was sure that him and XiongZhang could figure something out. Besides, it was obvious. One could say one thing, but mean another, which was probably why he had begun to believe that perhaps Lan Zhan had truly disliked him. Well, he intended to put a stop to that, and so though he was not entirely used to engaging in physical contact, nor did he often allow it on his person, he was willing to try, for Wei Ying. His friend, his...

He turned to Wei Ying, wanting to say something, but the words kept getting stuck.

"Lan Zhan, it is okay, take your time," Wei Ying said gently. Lan Wangji noded once, trying to figure out what it is that he was going to say, how he could say it, there was so much but his thoughts kept running over each other. Eventually, he turned back to Wei Ying.

"I hope, Wei Ying does not find me too at liberty." Wei Ying blinked blankly, not understanding.

"Oh," He said with a laugh, his eyes lighting up with mirth when he finally figured out what he meant. "Lan Zhan, come on," he pouted petulantly. "I do not mind if you touch me, you can do so whenever," He paused, seeming to realize what he said, but he did not take it back. "I am very tactile you know, I am more worried about taking liberties with you." Lan Zhan shook his head.

"Wei Ying may." Wei Ying tilted his head, his brows furrowing, contemplating something that Huaisang had said.

When he had first met the Nie heir, the other had talking to him about Lan Wangji, but so far, other than having some complications, and being very quiet and shy, he had not seen the same person that it would seem that Lan Wangji had. That, combined with Jiang Cheng's comments...

"Lan Zhan." he whispered his eyes lost to the abyss of thoughts. "Are...Are we dating?" He asked , glancing up to the golden eyes of his compatriot. "I...I mean, it is fine if..." Lan Zhan stopped him, hands moving forwards to hold Wei Ying's.

"We...are whatever Wei Ying is comfortable with." He said gently, soothing his thumb over the other's knuckles. Wei Ying stared at Lan Wangji with wide eyes.

"A-Are you sure?" He asked, his voice trembling. "I-I do not wish to bring you a b-bad reputation. I-I have a habit of-of destroying everything that I..." Lan Wangji hushed Wei Ying by placing his hand over his mouth.

"Enough," He said softly. "Wei Ying is..." He did not even really know how he could explain everything that encompassed that he was thinking. "Wei Ying is enough...For me."

Dark eyes sparkled as the sun shone through the Library, and Wei Ying found himself lighting up as he jumped forwards giving Lan Wangji a hug, wrapping his arms tightly around the other. Tears began to fall onto Lan Zhan's robes, but he pretended not to notice, not wanting the other to feel more self-concious.

Yes. He would need to talk to XiongZhang.
