Lan Wangji waited for his brother to speak. There had to be a reason why Xichen would pull him back. His Uncle wishing to speak with Wei Ying could be one, but he doubted that it was the main one. It likely had to do with something else, something more, and Lan Zhan found himself somewhat nervous leaving his beloved out of his sight with his Uncle. It was not as though he could quite help it. He knew that his Uncle had come long ways, and obviously he had no words against his and Wei Ying's betrothal, but he also knew that his Uncle could be a bit...brash at times. Of course, such things were against the rules, and he was forced to reflect on them and himself each time that it happened, but it did still happen. It was normal, of course, humans were quite emotional, but the important part was his attempts to avoid acting in similar manners. It was a good thing that so far such actions had yet to come upon Wei Ying, but he did still find himself nervous. He did not want to cause more problems. Or rather, he did not want his Uncle to cause problems that could be easily fixed if he kept his mouth closed and his emotions in check.
"I wanted to talk to you about the stipulations that we put upon the Jiang Sect, as well as the outcome of our conversations. I feel as though, considering you raised some concerns regarding such things, I should inform you of the findings that I came out with. Furthermore, I want to know what it is that you wish for us to do as an outcome to the information that we did find. Furthermore, as you are about to be married to Wei Wuxian, it would only make sense that you are informed of these things as they are definitely going to be popping up amongst your time with him at some point. I also want you to know, that I will help you in any way I can, irregardless of whatever choice you make." Lan Wangji nodded once, somewhat nervous as he assessed the emotion that he was feeling. It was not something that he felt all that often, but when he did it was usually with some important thing attached to it. Understandable, of course, and he currently found himself nervous of what his brother was going to say. Something which was rare, as he was typically never nervous around his brother. Then again, he was rarely nervous as a default anyways.
"Go on," He stated, clearly, his words and voice surprisingly having no tremor or anything else to indicate that he felt anything regarding the situation. It was something he had to admit he found himself grateful for. XiChen smiled at his words, seemingly amused. He had no idea how it was that his brother was able to tell almost everything about him, when he got confused over his own emotions constantly, but he supposed that it was just something to do with them being siblings. He could very well say the same about his own observations when it came to his brother. He usually just chalked it up to that, but he wondered...Wei Ying seemed to be learning quite quickly as well...perhaps he was not so difficult to read, it was just the right people had to be there to read him. He had never really thought about it like that before.
"We have decided to forbade the Jiangs from seeing Wei WuXian past the wedding." XiChen began. Lan Wangji sat up just ever a bit straighter more than his already perfectly stiff posture. This was getting out to a good start already. He knew that Wei Ying would likely have something to say about that-if he knew. However, Lan Zhan had no intention of allowing the other to find out that this was a stipulation in their marriage in the first place, nor was he going to disagree with a notion either. He was glad for it, in fact. "Although, they may not even come to the wedding." No loss in Lan Wangji's eyes if he was honest, of course he did not say such things, merely thought them to himself. "The other, is that we managed to procure some information upon Wei WuXian's status amongst the Jiangs." Wangji's eyes flickered in curiosity and wariness. Not that XiChen could blame him. His brother had been the one to bring his concerns to them in the first place, though XiChen would say he had his own observations about what had been going on, it was not until his brother showed interest that he bothered to really look any closer.
"What?" Wangji asked strictly. It would seem he was almost impatient to receive the information, almost.
"It would seem that Wei WuXian was treated very little better than a servant amongst the Jiang household, despite his status as the son of an immortal, and of a sworn brother of the Jiang. It is, unfortunately, quite obvious that he was vastly mistreated from his time with the Jiangs, both from neglect of the Sect Leader, and I would not hesitate to suspect that there was a vast degree of physical abuse going on among the Lady of the Sect. That Madam Yu did not seem all that happy with anything to do with Wei WuXian. It would seem he was a glorified servant to the Jiangs, and essentially some sort of scape goat and body guard to their children. Unfortunate, considering we both know how intelligent the Young Master is." Wangji was gripping his thighs tightly in simmering anger. XiChen could not blame him for the rush of emotions, as he had originally felt them as well. "However...It is good to note..." The conversation was stopped as Wei WuXian rushed into the room and took cover besides Wangji. XiChen watched with amusement as their Uncle soon came in afterwards, likely looking for Wei WuXian.
It was with, almost sadness that he had to correct his Uncle, but XiChen found, even now, his Uncle at times would step his own bounds a bit. It was to be expected, he supposed. The other had been leading the Sect for a while, but he was no longer doing so, it was not his job anymore. XiChen would not take any slander against his brother's beloved at the moment either. He did not care what the other said, if there was an issue it should go through him. He doubted it was that big of an issue, however, in which case, his Uncle could just bear with it.
