Huaisang could not stand being around the Jiang Heir any longer, and it would seem that he was not the only one who had thought of such a thing recently. The Heir did not used to be popular, by any means, and he was almost dead sure that it was most Wei Wuxian that had drawn people to the Jiang party in the first place, but now the Heir was by himself more than he was with anyone else, and that even included Jiang Yanli. It was quite embarrassing to be sure, but what made it even worse was his attitude. As though it was not enough that none bothered to be around him anymore, his attitude was mostly what caused it, and Huaisang knew that the Heir was painting himself to be a victim to himself. The unfortunate thing was that nobody truly cared enough to actually listen to him try and spew forth what he was attempting to convince everyone of. It was unfortunate, but his reputation was really only getting worse the more he tried to pin blame on Wei WuXian.
Thinking of that, Huaisang had gathered that Wei WuXian had been moved from the Jiang disciple rooms, which made sense given what he knew of the new developments. They had not spoken of the developments, which really made the Jiang Heir's ramblings make no sense beyond anything more. Huaisang had the intuition that it was definitely going to happen sooner than later, likely before the lectures even ended. It would make sense, as there was clear indications that Wei WuXian was not going to be returning to Lotus Pier. When the news came out, well Huaisang was not really sure how people would take it. He supposed that the Lan did not really give a care as to how others would see things. It was not entirely abnormal that two men were marrying, it was more the...stations of the two were rather different, and almost scandalous. Then again, from what Huaisang managed to glean, Wei WuXian's station was a bit higher than the Jiangs would care to admit.
Of course, he was not against watching as the Jiang Sect slowly desecrated themselves by allowing their Heir's abysmal behavior. He was content to watch as their reputation got steadily worse and worse the more the Jiang Heir acted contrarily to society. Not only was he making a complete fool of himself, Huaisang watched as Wei WuXian did the exact opposite. Just as people started rushing from Jiang Cheng when they saw him appearing, they would flock to Wei WuXian, when they could find him, that was. Which was yet another thing that Huaisang seemed to be noticing, as he noticed everything. Wei WuXian was quite hard to pinpoint when he was not around Lan Wangji. Oh, of course he still attended classes, which was mandatory, but for some reason it would seem as though the moment classes ended he disappeared to who knows where. Huaisang had managed to gather the two Wen siblings to aid him in looking for them, but...they had not particularly managed it. Though their participation was quite shocking, at least the girls was. He had figured that the boy, Wen...Ning Huaisang thought was his name, would definitely help him. The girl...He could not remember what her name was, that was rather a surprise if he was being honest.
He got the feeling that they were trying to...make up for something that had been done. Huaisang was not blind, after all. He had seen the way Wen Chao had looked at Wei Wuxian. It gave him shudders even now just referencing the memory. He had not liked that. He had also been surprised when Lan Qiren had allowed Wei Wuxian to talk with Wen Chao alone, or that Wen Chao had even demanded such a thing in the first place. The old coot seemed to be a stickler for the rules, as Huaisang should expect from a Lan Elder of all people, but allowing the Wen to not only crash the ceremony, but then allowing another disciple to be alone unsupervised with someone who clearly had...not nice intentions? Even more he was surprised that the Jiang's had allowed it. Not anymore, of course, but he had been at the time. Lan Wangji had been more against it than his own family. It made the picture quite upsetting. As for what had happened during that talk...Huaisang did not know, but it was obvious to him that it had deeply unsettled Wei Wuxian to see Wen Chao again, so he was betting that something had happened. Especially with how the girl seemed to be reluctantly accepting to aid him in his Wei Ying discourse. He would figure it out, though, he was certain. Whatever it was that had happened between the two, if anyone could figure it out, it would definitely be him, and Huaisang was curious.
As for the...other developments, there were some oddities now that Wei Wuxian was extricated from the Jiang Sect. Not that anyone of the disciples would admit that, of course, and Huaisang had a feeling that Jiang Cheng had a large portion of something to do with that. However, Huaisang had seen the nerves of the Jiang Disciples almost skyrocket since Wei Ying had stopped really intermediating between the Jiang sects. Now, he had known that Wei Wuxian had been the Head disciple, but there seemed to be more to that, given how the other Jiang Disciples all of the sudden seemed to be sporting some form of injuries or exhaustion. Huaisang did not really have to question too much what was going on, but he definitely did not like it.
If the Jiang heir was going to continue acting like this, perhaps Huaisang should take matters into his own hands, though he had no real proof of anything...Of course...Huaisang thought a nigh scandalous thought to himself, pausing in his walking attempt to hunt Wei Wuxian down once again. Wei-Xiong would definitely have information on the inner workings of the Jiang sect, and more than likely he would not even know most of the things that had happened were wrong. If I could sit down with him...But that ended in a heavy sigh. He could barely even find Wei Ying half the time, how was he going to get time enough to actually sit down and have a conversation with him? Much less, without Lan Wangji hovering around him? It was almost impossible to see one without the other now-a-days, and on the off chance he was not around Lan Wangji, the elder brother was there somewhere, which gave Huaisang a pause in attempting to approach the other.
It was rather frustrating, if he would say so himself.
