Wei Ying just flushed, sitting at the table with Lan Wangji, and ignored all of the stares and wide eyed looks of shock that he had the other were getting. He was rather surprised that Lan Wangji would be so bold. It was not what he had thought he would do, but then again, he supposed there was not much that he could do when it came to refusing Wangji. It was more the fact that he just did not want to, rather than any sort of inability to do so. If Lan Zhan wanted to sit with him during the course of dinner, then Wei Ying would not refuse him, besides that, he supposed that they had somewhat concerned XiChen, and he owed Lan Zhan. Furthermore, if the other was going to be bold enough to grab him and drag him to his table, well, who was Wei Ying to refuse such a wonderful request? He was shocked that Lan Zhan was so bold himself, but he also could not deny that it definitely made him feel...something alright. He was also glad that he did not really have to push to explain anything.

He knew that he was going to have to talk to Jiang Cheng soon, and he had no doubt that Lan Wangji would have to talk to his own uncle and brother about things as well, but for now, he was quite content with simply sitting besides Lan Wangji and eating their food. It was a wonderful end to a wonderful day, although he still could not get over the fact that he had accidentally spent the entire day reading books with Lan Zhan. It was not something he was...accustomed to, but he also could not say that he did not enjoy it. He was not one that generally enjoyed the solitude that came with the library. He was very jittery at the best of times. He was surprised that he had even managed to go so long without really moving much. Sure he had draped himself over Lan Wangji's back and peered over his shoulders, but did that really count as moving? Wei Ying did not consider it so.

Wei Ying did not really want the dinner to end, but it did, and all too soon. He did not want the dinner to end. Dinner ending meant that he would have to part with Lan Zhan and suffice it to say he most certainly did not want to do that. Parting ways with Lan Wangji also meant the inevitable conversation with Jiang Cheng that he definitely did not want to deal with. He was worried about what he would even say. How could he approach the situation? Furthermore, he already knew all of the things that the other would say. He would probably even draw Yanli into the argument, and he had no clue how he would continue when that happened. Whenever Yanli forced them to settle, he always was the one who felt the most discontent. He felt wronged, almost, but also felt that it was useless to broach the subject. She just...did not understand. Though, sometimes Wei Ying was forced to wonder whether it was because she simply did not understand his emotions or feelings, or because she sidelined them, even if she had good intentions, to cater to Jiang Cheng's. He did not want to think it was the latter but...as time continued he questioned himself. He may not like it but sometimes the reality was not as pretty as he wanted to show it.

Luckily for him, Lan Wangji had managed to minimize that worry, at least a little bit, but all but snatching him before Jiang Cheng could say anything. They were back in the library before Wei Ying could even really think about what was going on. He just sat with Wangji at the table, slightly dazed and most certainly utterly confused at what in the world had happened. Lan Wangji had not been this outspoken, metaphorically, or bold, physically, in....ever. He did not know what had happened the the shy and recitant boy that he had seen when he first came into the cloud recesses. He could not say that he did not like it, of course, no Lan Wangji's boldness definitely lit a fire in him, but it was quite different from what he had expected when they had confessed. If this was what he had to look forwards to for the rest of his life, that was assuming the courtship went well of course, he most certainly would not be disagreeable to it.

"Lan Zhan," Wei Ying whispered softly. he did not really want to interrupt the boy should he truly not be willing to speak. However, he was curious, and as he was Wei Ying his curiosity was definitely one to get him into some trouble.

"mhm,"

"Are you nervous?" He asked. "I mean, I know that you were quite bold in your declaration at dinner, but...aren't you nervous what Professor Qiren and your brother will say to us...you know?"

"I...am..." Wangji admitted. "But...neither would deny." Wei Ying gave a smile at that. Although he was still anxious as to how he was going to speak with Jiang Cheng and the rest of the Jiang sect, not even just about their courtship, but just about where he had been disappearing off to. Or the anger that they most definitely would have considering he and Lan Wangji had left them to be caught by the guards out after curfew. Not that it was his problem to deal with after all, Jiang Cheng knew how to handle himself. He just knew that he would be accused of something. He usually was.

He was just...happy. He was happy that Wangji would not have to have the same worries that he did. It was a relief to him, because while he could stress over such things, he did not want Wangji's family to do the same to him.
