Ever since Luke broke up with me, I was devastated. I had never been through such turmoil of emotion as I never experienced heartbreak before. It was usually me who ditch dude , because they were all assholes. But Luke was different ,my feelings for Luke was different and that why it hurts so much.
For days and months I used to seal myself in my dark dingy room , skipped University and my stupid job . My appetite had reduced, and there were few days I used to pass just weeping. It tensed both Mike and Betty. But one day Mike went missing. He wasn't home from work since 24 hrs.
Betty and I were gathered downstairs in the hall. Betty asked me call cops . Without wasting time I dialed the emergency number.
But at point someone entered the room, IT was Mike but his condition was a havoc.
"Mike..." I shouted and then noticed a baseball bat in his right hand. My eyes widened in shock. Spinning the bad around, placed a powerful hit on Betty's head . I was to shocked to move.

"KYLA..listen." Mike proceeded towards me.
" Stay AWAY..from me ." I shouted and moved back. Tears gathered near my eyes.
" I don't have ..much tim..time ." his voice shook ." The cops are after me ."
I was still unable to move , my eyes were burning . Betty was lying down with live bloods oozing out of her head.
"They found out about us...you need to leave now ." He ordered.
I couldn't believe what was going on. But Betty needed me , I knelt down ,she was breathing . I put my hand tight on the injured area to stop the blood but it was when Mike pulled up roughly by hand and parted me away from Betty .
"Are you out of you fucking brain .." I gave thrust to Mike.
"KYLA stay away from Betty.. she's the one." He yelled at me ." She informed the police about and she wanted to ... FUCKING KILL you."
No he was lying, why should I believe home.
"I DON'T believe you .."
"You have believe me Kyla.. she's a traitor. She's Burns' wife." Mike scornfully said.
I turned back towards Betty with tears in my eyes , she was trying to get up and groaning. I didn't believe she a traitor. Therefore I rushed to her to help her , but when I put my hand to aid her .
"Stay aw..away from me ." Betty gave me a shove .
"BETTY..."I was startled by her behaviour.
" Yes ..Mike is saying true ." She raised her head and sat down."I wanted you to die ."
She suddenly forced herself to stand but her feets were shaky . She was weak and needed medical help.
"Betty lay down.. I'm calling the ambulance." I cried .
"Stupid..just few minutes. I'll avenge my son's death."she laughed.
" Kyla ..you need to get out."Mike who was quiet, broke up all sudden.
I ignored Mike. " What you are talking about Betty..?" I questioned.
"..your dad's drugs got my only son dead back in Paris. Yes I am Betty Burns, and I planned everything to get you and your father ruined." She growled.
" I even helped Liza to get your dad behind bar...but he's just too rich to get punished . That's why I want you to be dead ..I informed the police about you.."
Suddenly Mike dragged me out of the room shuting Betty inside.
"You need to leave now .. KYLA I want you to be safe ." He embraced me .
"Where..I can't.."I sobbed hard.
" Kyla.. darling it's not your fault. Trust me your dad had never done anything wrong neither you." Mike patted my back .
" You have to get out of the. ..mess and find clues against Liza . You have to get her down."
" I..I ca .. can't" I sighed.
" You can Kyla. You are the only hope." He said and got a card out from his wallet ." This my debit card , you will have enough money for month or two ."
Without wasting any more precious time , I hurried to my room and packed things which I thought were important. And changed the dress which was soaked in Betty's blood .
Mike drove me to airport. Then immediately went away since police was tracking him .
Life was moving so fast , it was hard balance myself and keep up with it .
I texted Luke for the last time and threw phone in the bin. Then slowly procceded towards the checking counter .
My headache had been killing but the fear that I was all alone on my own stinging my whole body .
