We started coming up with a plan.

Since we didn't know much about the creatures, it was hard to come up with a way to kill them. Sure, we knew what they looked like, but that was pretty much all we knew about them.

We did, however, know three notable things:
1. They tend to keep their distance away from us.
2. They have six eyes at the front of their head.
3. They're fast as fuck.

As for number one, while they did get closer to us sometimes, they never got close enough to be within our reach. They never even attacked us, only got close enough to scare us. That could mean two things: we either have something that they're afraid of, or they have a weak spot that they're trying to protect.

We aren't sure which one it is though, and we also don't know what could be their weak spot or whatever they're afraid of.
Both options tell us that we need to find a way to get them closer to us and find out which one it is.

As for number two, six eyes can be a big advantage for them. However, while we may not have six eyes, together we have four that can look in more than just one direction.

And as for number three.. we're not sure what to do with that. I have to admit, they can definitely outrun us.
We've only seen them move when they were near my house. During the rest of the encounters, they stood still, but even when we ran, they would still catch up to us, no matter what. Which makes me believe that they can either teleport or run really fast. And I think that the second option is more likely, as they can definitely move around.

Next, we also discussed the other creatures, ones like my grandma. We know almost nothing about them. Are they still human inside? Do they still feel like humans do? Is there a way to save them?
Maybe they'll be ordered to attack us. We know nothing about them, but we do know that they are as powerful as the creatures we're going against. They can't see us, but they can feel any kind of movement around them. And they also spit out the acidic liquid that could easily dissolve us and it would all be over for us.

We couldn't come up with anything to outsmart them, so for now we'll have to hope that they don't attack us until we come up with something.

Lastly, we discussed weapons and how we'll attack them.

„I don't have any weapons except for the axe and.. a knife, I guess. I don't think this will be enough," I said, placing a kitchen knife on the table next to the axe.

„I don't have anything either.. but we also don't know how to kill them yet. Maybe this is all we'll need," Chris responded and smiled lightly.

„That's true, but.. they're keeping their distance away from us. We need to find a way to bring them closer to us so we can attack that way."

Chris nodded and sat back in his chair, thinking of a way to get closer to us. There was silence for a moment as both of our brains tried thinking of something that would get the creatures closer to us.
There must be a reason why they're trying to distance themselves away from us. Unless they want to surprise us or deceive us. But if they're not, how much are they willing to sacrifice for their own safety? Would they protect their own village? Or would they break their trust for their own safety?

„What if," I started, „we tried to convince the villagers that they've been tricked? If they'll believe us, we'll have more people on our side. If they won't believe us, we might anger the creatures and they might try getting rid of us."

Chris thought about it for a moment, then smiled and nodded. „Good idea! We can definitely try that and see how it works. But we need to be careful."

I nodded and smiled, then grabbed the axe and handed it to Chris.
„I hope you don't mind if I give you the axe while I have the knife," I said and he shook his head.
