I opened the door and walked inside the building, scanning everything around me.

„Let me know when you find something," I said and entered one of the rooms in the building.

„Of course, detective Archer," the woman that followed me responded as she also scanned her surroundings.

I let out a chuckle and turned to look at her, then shook my head.
„We've talked about this already, miss Kim. Why so professional when we've been friends for such a long time?"

I walked out of the room and entered another one, checking the various items on the shelves while waiting for my partner to answer my question. I heard her sigh behind me, immediately telling me what the answer will be.
She turned to look at me, her earring moving along with her. The other earring was covered with her black, shoulder-length hair, but it probably did the exact same thing as the one that I could see.

„We're not friends, we're co-workers," she replied coldly and fixed the gloves on her hands. I rolled my eyes and smiled at her, but she ignored my smile and began walking up the stairs.

„Miss Kim, why do you hate me so much?" I yelled to her and followed her up the stairs, checking the condition they were in. But Yejun ignored that question completely and walked towards a big room at the other end of the hallway.

„There's a library here," she said as the clicking of her heels echoed through the hall. I followed after her as I checked the hallway, trying to find anything out of the ordinary.
The library was the messiest out of all the rooms so far. There were scratch marks all around the floor and some tables were destroyed as well. There was a table in the middle and on it, as well as under it, were small pieces of what probably used to be a statue or a vase or.. something like that.

I walked to the bookshelves and examined the books that were on them. Most of them were about religion, then there were some about cooking.

„How boring, I wouldn't read these even if someone forced me to," I mumbled and walked around more, reading more titles of books.

„You don't even read books," Yejun responded as she examined the broken pieces. I shook my head and smiled.
„Course I do! You just don't know about it."

I heard a sigh behind me, followed by silence. As I walked around more and looked through more books, I noticed one book that was put into the bookshelf the other way round. I picked it up and looked at the cover of the book. But before I could do anything else, I was interrupted by my partner.

„Detective Archer, you need to see this."

I raised my eyebrow and turned around, curious about what there is that I need to see. My partner was standing by the table in the middle of the room and she was pointing under the table. I walked towards the table and put the book on it, then crouched down and looked at what she was pointing at.

Underneath was a statue. It was cracked in some places, but it was still somehow in one place. But that statue..

Was one hell of a creepy statue.
