I sighed and sat down on one of the chairs.

„This won't do," I mumbled as I stared at the knife in my hands. We were too weak. We might be able to kill one at once, but when there's so many after us, we're practically dead.

„I'll go try that liquid thing on the creature downstairs. We can think of what to do next afterwards," Chris said and put down his backpack, then grabbed the plastic bag with the liquid inside of it and walked down the stairs. I stood up and followed him, curious to see if something ends up happening.
Chris approached the dead body and opened the plastic back, then took out a stick and used the stick to spread the sticky liquid around the body as much as he could. He then stood back and waited for something to happen.

„Do you think it'll work?" I asked, to which Chris shrugged.

„I guess we'll see."

We stood there and watched it for a while, and when nothing was happening, we were both very disappointed. But then suddenly, smoke began coming out from beneath the liquid.

„Is.. is it working?" I asked again and quickly ran to open the windows.

„I think it might actually be working.. wow," Chris smiled and chucked to himself. „I guess it just takes a longer time."

„How strange," I mumbled, „the humans that were turned into creatures could've killed them all along. All they had to do was work together."

Chris nodded, then began walking towards the entrance.

„Where are you going?"

„I'll go get rid of the other one as well. I don't think the creatures are still after us, so I should be safe. If anything happens, I'll let you know."

I sighed, not happy with the fact that he was going outside all alone, but then just nodded and let him go. I returned back upstairs to where all our things were and looked through my backpack, trying to see if I should take something else if we choose to go somewhere. But all we really needed was warm clothing, food, water, and a bunch of first aid kits. And we had all that, so we should be fine.

As I was searching through my backpack, I heard my phone ring. The stupid ringtone made me jump. I walked to the phone and checked who was calling.

It was.. Chris?

Was he in danger? The music boxes weren't playing, so there's no way they're here, right?

I quickly picked up the phone and listened.

„Clara! Please come here, you need to see this," Chris said. I could feel that he was somewhat happy from the way his tone of voice sounded.

„Is everything okay?" I asked worriedly.

„Yes, of course. Please get here as soon as possible, you really need to see this."

He hung up and I shook my head. I grabbed my knife and ran down the stairs, all the way to where the body of the creature was, since that's where Chris should be.
And he was there. But he wasn't by the creature, he was standing by the corner of the house.

„Chris, what are you doing?" I asked as I walked towards him.

„I found a hidden door!"

„What?"

I fastened my pace and looked around where he was standing. And there really was a hidden door.
A hidden trapdoor was peeking from behind some sort of strange carpet that was randomly laying on the ground. It was probably there to hide the trapdoor.

„How did you find this?" I asked and looked at Chris, but he just shrugged.

„I dunno. I just saw the carpet and went to look at what was going on here. And then I saw the door."
