Chapter 7

"It's been a week." Kida said, groaning as they waited at the school gate for Kiko. "Something's wrong."

"We know that, but there's nothing we can do." Mikado told him. Since the incident of them being attacked Kiko disappeared. They would wait for her at the school gates everyday. The teachers didn't seem to question where she was, it's not like she was there long enough for people to notice her gone. Anri texted Celty asking if she had seen her, but she wasn't picking up her phone.

"That's it, I'm looking for Izaya." Kida said walking away from the school, his two friends exchanged looks before following. They searched over town finding Shizuo in the middle of his work. "Hey man, I know you're working but can we talk?"

"Tom, give me a minute." Shizuo told his boss walking with the kids. "Shouldn't you be in school?"

"Last Friday after Kiko left, no one has seen her." Anri told him. "It's like she disappeared."

"We were hoping you seen Izaya and if he mentioned it?" Mikado asked the man looking around. Maybe she was just ditching them.

"Now that you mention it, it has been quiet. The flea hasn't came around since then either." Shizou rubbed his chin. "He might be working, but I'll keep an eye out for the kid." Kida wrote his number down, giving it to him.

"Hey guys!" Erika's voice came from behind them, Walker following along. "What's going on?"

"Kiko's missing." Anri told her. "Izaya's gone too."

"Kiko's missing? You don't think it has anything to do with him?" Walker asked Erika. The two started whispering about something.

"Speak up." Shizou told them.

"Last week Kadota was attacked on his way home, stabbed. He lost a lot of blood."

"He said he didn't remember anything, but it might be related. We were going to visit him." Erika said, holding some flowers. "You're welcome to come."

"Kiko had some men looking for her, she saved us when they attacked us. She mentioned something about not going home." Mikado said following behind them. They started walking towards the hospital, Shizou had to finish work but would meet them later.

"Kadota told us some about when they were kids. Parents are apparently really bad to them." They arrived at the hospital going to Kadota's room. Celty was sitting on the bed and looked in terrible condition.

"Celty what happened?" Mikado asked her running to her side. She started typing on her phone.

"I was attacked, I don't remember much. I heard about Kadota and came over to pick him up. We're going to look for Shinra, Kiko, and Izaya. When he's in trouble he always runs to Shinra."

"Kiko got attacked by some men in suits last week, we haven't seen her since." Kida told her. Kadota and her shared a worried look. He grabbed his clothes and went to the bathroom to change. After he came out a nurse had him sign some paper before he could leave.

"Like Celty said when Izaya's in trouble he runs to Shinra. Kiko's had the habit of running to Celty. There's a chance they could be with him." Kadota said, limping a bit. He was still hurting and had stitches, but he was going to make sure they were okay. They made it to the apartments, Celty unlocking the door. She went to another door which lead to a basement area. Shinra kept his lab underground. The door bell rung. "Shizuo what are you doing here?"

"The kids texted me. Found anything yet?"

"I'm checking the basement." Celty typed to him. They followed the woman down. Once down they saw blood covering the walls, floor, and the hospital bed. A man was laying on his side with a knife wound in his stomach, he was groaning.
