DreamXD Pov:
There I stood at the heart of The Crimson Forest. One might wonder how the forest gained such a title, well one can only truly understand in the prime of fall. When the land is shifting from summer to winter is when you can truly see it.
From the leaves of the trees, to grasses and shrubs, they all sift from green to a bright crimson red, not a speck of yellow or orange in sight. Even the bark of the trees have gained a reddish hue along with their already colorful tint. A truly magnificent sight, a sight worth visiting.
As a deity of this plain you would think such sights would lose meaning over time, and in a sense you would be right. I will never be able to replicate the feeling of amazement I once felt when witnessing the beauty of the Crimson Forest. Since I have seen it so many times, one could say too many times. Yet I still come here every fall, I still gain a slight amount of aw from this place. At least enough to make me come back every year.
All thought recently there has been something else drawing my attention to this place. A mortal, how odd is that.
A simple mortal has caught my attention; I don't even know why, I know nothing of him, I haven't even seen his face, all I know is that he comes to visit the Crimson Forest rather, often almost every week.
Though he still managed to catch my attention, which most would view as a bad thing. I know of many mortals who go out of their way to go unnoticed by me, yet without even trying this poor human has done what many try in vain to avoid. And now that he has gained my attention, what am I to do? Should I pursue this unknown interest or shall I ignore it? What to do, what to do...
I spend days pondering what I should do, since my concept of time is rather warped or nonexistent. There is no true harm in pursuing, as long as I stay unseen. Even if he somehow managed to see me it would still be entertaining to watch the human cower in fear at the mere sight of me.
I stand brushing off dead leaves and blades of grass. I look up through the trees, and I smile, "Well, time to find myself a little human.". This will be simple; DreamXD the all-seeing, they don't call me that for nothing. I stood there in silence, the wind rustling the leaves above. I close my eyes and start looking. Eastern side, not there. Southeast, nothing. South side, still nothing. "Where are you?" I whisper a tad annoyed, North side, humm... there. I smile "There you are.". There he was walking through the northern side of the Crimson Forest. I wonder where he was headed, only one way to find out.
I spread my wings, stretching them before I take off to see my little human. I had two sets of wings, both pure white, and each feather was soft as silk. I always took much time and care to keep them that way. After I felt I was ready, I shot up into the sky.
For a moment I got a little distracted, flying was always such a wonderful escape. The cool air hitting my wings, the amazing view of the world below, and the sun never looked so beautiful as it did among the twirling clouds.
After a few moments of whirling through the sky, I remembered why I was here. I flipped over, and looked down to where I saw my human and dove down. I broke through the trees, landing gracefully on my feet, now I could see who I was dealing with.
I twist and turn, maneuvering around the branches, shrubs, and rocks to make as little noise as possible. It's times like these where I wish my true form was a little smaller. I look around for a good minute before I hear the crunch of leaves under someone's careless footsteps. I swiftly follow the footsteps, and soon my little human is just within my sight.
Then to my surprise he suddenly stops, about to look behind him to me. I must have gotten careless, I quickly jumped into the trees before he turned his head.
He looked around frantically, I could sense his paranoia from here, I was shocked when he actually spoke "Hello? Is anyone there?" I let out a quiet hum. His voice is so soft and sweet, how alluring.
I watch in amusement as my little human looks at his surroundings, he sighs before turning around, walking a little faster than before, and I continue to follow him through the trees. It's cute how he thinks walking faster will help him lose me. Well, I shouldn't be so hard on my little human, it is a natural human instinct to flee when afraid.
Suddenly he comes to a stop, backing up into a tree before sliding down to sit against it. How curious, my little human must be tired. I watched intently as my little human continuously looked around before sighing "I must be hearing things.". He tilted his head up to look at the rustling leaves drifting off into a restful sleep.
Now is my opportunity to get a closer look, I slowly lower myself from the trees to the leaf covered floor, creating a slight crunching sound under my feet as I land on the leaf covered ground. I carefully made my way towards my little human, until I loomed over his sleeping body. His chest rising and falling in sync with his slow, quiet breaths.
I leaned down looking him up and down to better make out his features. He had a small dainty body, I could tell he was a spell caster just by the strong aura he gave off.
He was wearing a light blue long sleeved tunic, brown trousers, dark brown boots, and a red cape with a silver clasp, and soft wool on the fabric around his neck. I moved my attention to his face, but he was wearing these large goggles obstructing my view. I huffed before carefully removing the goggles from his face, and I stopped.
He was beautiful. His features were so perfect and defined, his skin was pale, with a few freckles across his cheeks, and his hair was a beautiful dark brown perfectly complimenting his factual features. I don't know how long I spent admiring my little human, but when he started to shift awake I quickly bolted into the tree he was leaning on, watching him closely from above. He stretched out yawning, he opened his eyes and I was once again taken aback. His eyes were two different colors, his left eye was a gorgeous dark brown, and his right eye was a delicate light blue.
I snap out of my trance when I hear the little human speak "What? How did my?" I see him reach for his goggles, shit I forgot to put them back, "They must have fallen off in my sleep." the little human grumbles, I let out a sigh of relief.
He stands and continues to walk South towards the heart of the forest, and I follow. Now what am I to do, this is the most beautiful mortal I have ever seen, and now that I've seen him I don't ever want him out of my sight. I don't want one else to lay a finger on him, I want to be the only one to bask in his beauty, I want him to be mine.
If I want that I can't just watch him from a distance, I so badly want to talk to my little human, but there are many reasons why that would be a bad idea. One look at me and he will cower in fear of me, which means... I'll have to use a mortal disguise.
It has been so long since I have used it, since I never had a reason, unlike now. I have an idea of where my little human might be headed, so I take the opportunity to get ahead. I make it the center of the forest, which has the mystical crystal spring running through it. This must be where he was headed. I take a deep breath and focus, this is it.
Time to make a good first impression.
