From the upper deck of her new home Ella watched as Boomer went to meet Sin who was heading down the stairs.  Though big and quiet she now saw him for the gentle giant he was.  She been confused when he's chosen her over the other women to ask for help.  Now having seen her new apartment Ella understood.  No way had a women she barely knew decorated that space so perfectly for her.

"What has you smiling little one?" Oliver question as he reached her at the top of the stairs.   Pointing to where Boomer was leading Sin away Ella explained about the house next door.  " The perfect match for her as this space is for you" he murmered looking around her small but warm space.

Still smiling she offered him a drink having seen that even her cabinets were stocked.  Not plain while china either.  Sturdy ceramic and earthenware.  Old diner styled glasses and Boston wine glasses.  All in different colours.

Taking a beer from her fridge Ella grabbed a ice tea for herself before joining him on the couch.  It only took one look to know he had more to discuss than her new apartment.  In these past weeks she'd become more comfortable around this man.  He's stood up to his family for her when they demanded she present herself to them in Boston.

"Just say what needs saying" she finally offered when several moments of silence past.

"All the Mulligan men seem to have a wandering soul in their youth.  All travelling not only to the homeland but other places as well.   That's why it took a dna test to figure this out.  Around the time you would have been concieved four of the Mulligan men were travelling Ireland. My da one of them" Oliver told and had Ella placing down her glass bottle not wanting risk dropping it on her new rug.

Hadn't she recognized the resemblance between herself and Lia.  Features Oliver said came from the Mulligan bloodline as they looked exactly like younger copies of one of his aunts.  Ella had never looked like anyone before as she'd held little resemblance to her mother or her aunt.  The second she now considered a blessing,

"Just spill it out" Ella quietly demanded realizing Oliver had fallen silent while she thought the matter over.

"The test came back and you are my sister, Lia's sister.  You have two other brothers both older than me called Finley and Colin.  My da met you mum on his last week in Ireland. A trip he took after the death of his first wife.  Mine, Fin and Colins birth mother.  They spent the week together and he asked her to leave with him.  She refused and said her parents would disown her.  So he left and returned to the states already having been gone two months.  A month later he met my mother through arranged marriage.  His children needing a mother. "  Oliver explained what his father had told him over the phone just an hour before.

"My mum said he didn't want us.  That she'd called state side to let him know she was pregnant....he didn't want us" Ella whispered and the pain he heard was much to how his da had sounded.

"Another reason it took so long to come to the truth of it.  You ma did call the bar all those years ago asking for my da.  My Uncle Mason answered and took the message.  He confessed all when the test came back and got a sound beating from my mum first before da could get to him.  He never told him, never told a soul of the lass who called from Ireland.  Or the message that she carried his child." Oliver offered in explaination but knowing it made little difference.  Niether did Mason's explaination that his brother was weeks from being wed.

" It's in the past and I can't wish it undone.  If I were to do so it would mean Lia would have never been.  We may not be close but she's been kind.  I could never wish that or the happieness your father found in your mum.  Mine though not known would have made him a widower twice over it he'd known." she murmered working it all about in her mind.

But even knowing Ella wasn't sure what to do with the information that she had a father, siblings.  A step mother who had beaten on her brother in law on her behalf. Ella could see where Lia got her fire from.

"They want to meet you.  The whole family" he anounced and pulled her back to the here and now with that lot of news.

"No" she simply stated knowing she couldn't handle that. When Oliver went to plead their case she lifted a hand requesting his silence. " You parents and siblings only may come in a months or two. But only when I am ready.  As for you Uncle  Mason...I'm sorry I will never recognize him as kin.  Even if me mum and our da had never gotten together he would have financially helped aye?" she questioned and without hestitation Oliver answered yes and more.  She would have had a family behind her because of Ella.

"Me mum struggled, every day after I was born and she was disowned for having me out of wedlock.  Stuggled to put food on the table, a roof over head and clothing on our backs.  Knowing she was dying she suffered and held on so tight to make it till I was of age.  So I wasn't placed in an orphanage.  One word from your Uncle could have changed all that.  Please leave now...I'd like some time alone now" she pleaded after explaining her feelings on the matter then stood up and went upstair to her new bed.  It was too much to process and laying in her new bed she spent her first night in her new home crying.
