Alessandra Drakkon

Queen of the Drakkon Empire

I step wrong on the pebble path and my heel twists, causing me start falling over, a gasp of surprise is the only thing that leaves me before the wind gets knocked out of me as Kalo catches me. His face was mere centimeters from mine, I can feel his minty breath on my face, I watch transfixed as his eyes dart down to glance at my lips, my lips part on instinct. He slowly moves closer and my heart beats oddly in my chest, he is so close to kissing me, I can feel the heat radiating off him.

"Merrauw!" A Bastet yowls loudly, startling the both of us, my head jerks up and slams right into his forehead, the both of us headbutting by accident, I hiss in pain, slowly pulling away from him, the moment long gone after that disastrous interruption.

I am clutching my forehead, he is lightly rubbing his forehead, the two of us look at each other and burst out laughing. The hilarity of the situation unable to be contained, the one time we were so close, so close to kissing, and maybe crossing the line of friendship into something more and a Bastet ruins the moment.

I stumble forwards as something hits me on the lower back, I feel a vibration before the sound of purring reaches my ears and I turn around and notice the Bastet who had likely yowled at us for attention had now come up to us in the flower tunnel. I smile down at the beautiful creature, it's vivid colors and gold markings on full display, seeing them makes me think of Numa, the gold markings were so similar to his own and the fact that they seemed to be able to camouflage their fur into shadows, they must have some relation to him just as the Numar do. Though for the life of me I couldn't figure out how any of his creation had gone from Solveig to the Morgase empire, or rather the better question would be if Numa even originated from Solveig, after all he had saved me in space in the Trennix Empire, far away from Solveig.

He had again done something that only left me with more questions than answers, unwittingly or not. Numa intrigued me, his powers were extraordinary, my mind whirled with questions. Did he become a god or was he just born like that, how does one gain these powers, were there other's like him? That was one of the main questions I feared the answer to, because surely Numa was not the only god out there, and I feared somehow earning their wrath. Numa was terrifying, his powers on a scale much grander than my own, I wasn't sure what to make of it if there were others like him, maybe some even more powerful than him.

The Bastet nudges me again, causing me to stumble just slightly, heels in rock pathways was not easy. Though his nudge served to snap me out of my drifting thoughts and back to the present, I stroke his ears lightly, having missed the Bastet's on Draka. I had always been a cat lover, I cared for my Ikari a lot, but there was something about soft fur and their purring rumble that captivated me, even on Earth I had been attracted to them, and worked with them in a sanctuary.

"I think he likes you." I snort out a laugh, as the Bastet nudges me again for attention, his purr getting all the louder as he demands scratches.

"No, really, I hadn't noticed." I scratch under the Bastet's chin and his purr becomes even deeper and more pronounced, showing I had found a good spot.

"You're so good with them, it always surprises me that you only met your first Bastet a few months ago." I smile, loving the way the Bastet's fur felt between my fingers, scales were nice don't get me wrong, but sometimes soft fur was just the best.

"I used to work with wild cats when I was on earth, I've always felt that I had a good connection to them. Bastet's are not so different, they just have wings and the ability to change the color of their fur." I stumble again as the Bastet leans against me even more as he enjoys my attentions.
