Alessandra Drakkon
Queen of the Drakkon Empire
"We really don't have to do this. I've already been crowned, do I really need to do it again." My mother hits me on the arm, frowning at my attitude, but we had only been back on Draka for a week now, things were finally settling down and now I was supposed to go through an official coronation, get crowned by the previous ruler.
"This will mean a lot to your father, so shut up and deal with it. It's only a few hours." I hold back my groan of annoyance, a few hours that would drag on for an eternity, but in truth my father had offered me the option of doing an official crowning, offering me the chance to refuse as well, but I could tell how much it meant to him, to officially pass the throne down to me, so for all my whining I still intended to go through with it.
Though Titus was not at all pleased with the rushed ceremony, the entire week I had been back, the entire trip back here as well, Titus and I had been communicating and dealing with everything that had happened since I had been taken, as well as the things that had piled up when my father almost killed me. It had taken forever but I finally managed to catch up on all the work and on my first day off, I got to do this, Titus had it even worse, having to help me manage all the work that needed to be done and plan an official coronation at the same time.
Surprisingly enough Taarique had actually helped plan the coronation, she had seemed excited for it even, though I think that might just be because she loved planning parties. All of the people being controlled by the Nisha had unfortunately died after the Nisha had been killed, they just weren't in the bodies left behind, it was just an empty shell, so while disappointing, it had been expected. We were in the center room, just like before, when I had been crowned during my father's absence, the primaries were all here, dressed up for the occasion again, though Layla and Lucius were not present having still been stripped of their titles, which was alright because their empty chairs gave something for my parents to use.
"Presenting Arya Drakkon, Twelfth Primary of the House of Drakkon" Arya gives me a small smile, before stepping out of the doors and taking her place on the balcony outside, this must be a little overwhelming for her, it was her first official event as the Twelfth Primary, at least I had been coronated once already, so this wasn't quite so overwhelming as it had been the first time.
"Presenting Aliyah Drakkon, Eleventh Primary of the House of Drakkon." Aliyah curtsies to me before striding out onto the balcony to take her seat. Each of the primaries go to take their seats, though the seating was different than the first time I had done this.
With Layla and Lucius gone, all the primaries were shifted to accommodate for the gap and allow my parents to be seated on either side of me, it wasn't exactly traditional, but I had never been a traditional Queen. "Taarique Drakkon, Second Primary of the House of Drakkon." She dips her head to me respectfully, deeper than she ever had before, it seemed that I had finally earned her true respect.
"Presenting Aldrich Drakkon, former King of the Drakkon Empire and previous first primary of the House of Drakkon." My father gives me a wide smile and exits out the door, leaving me alone with my mother, loud cheers greet him, making me feel relieved that the people didn't hold his previous tyrant-like actions against him.
"Presenting Kiara Solveig, former Queen of the Solveig Empire and wife of Aldrich Drakkon." My mother gives me a small pat on the shoulder, she starts walking towards the doors, not looking nervous at all.
"You'll be fine, Alessandra. You've already done this once, what's the big deal?" She teases me before exiting the room and entering onto the balcony, leaving me alone in here, my heart picks up speed. I was nervous, I knew I shouldn't be, I had already done this before after all, and yet I couldn't seem to help it.
