47: One This Day

"On the eve of the Mayoral Debate, as Archie Andrews goes door-to-door, he doesn't mention the murder of his classmate, Midge Klump. Most people believed Midge was murdered by someone else but not Archie. He was certain, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the Black Hood was back, as was his next-door neighbor, Betty Cooper. Who had in fact laid eyes on the Black Hood and suspected he was much closer."

"We're heading to school ma" I said as we came downstairs grabbing some pancakes and headed towards the door putting on our shoes "okay love you"

"Love you too" I said kissing her cheek and heading out the door, Betts was waiting for Mary, and Jughead was waiting for me "Hey" he said kissing and opening the umbrella as we started walking down the stairs waiting for Mary and Betty. "Any word from Chic?" I asked breaking the silence as we all walked down the street heading to school "No. He hasn't called since I took him to the bus station. So, who knows? Maybe he's gone for good." Betts said not looking up at us. Mary draped her arm around Betts shoulder kissing her before speaking "Hey, the silver lining to all this Chic stuff over the last couple of weeks is... That's as bad as it gets, Betty. It can't get worse, how could it?" she said and Betts sighed.

"My dad could be the Black Hood" I looked at her then at Mary and she nodded "Yeah, okay. Well, that would be worse." Jughead said "I don't want to make you upset more than you are Betty I can feel that you are but it's your dad I can see it in his eyes"

"How is that possible?"

"I think it's my mom's side she is a Spellman after all" I said and Mary nodded but Jughead and Betts just looked at us. "What does that mean?"

"It's a feeling Betts and my feeling I have about someone is always right" I said to B and she sighed nodding as we continued to walk in silence to school. As we made it to school Betts looked at us "off to see Cherry?" I asked Betts and she stopped in her track "how did you know?" she said turning around and I just smiled at her "Stop it Mel you're scaring her and would you like me to go with you to see Cheryl?" Mary said and I chuckled "I'm sorry Betts" I said as I and Jughead walked into the school.

As class ended my phone started to ring "Yeah" I said answering the phone "would you like to accept" sighing I pressed 2 "Mel?"

"Speaking who's this?"

"It's WB"

"What the fuck WB I haven't heard from you in a while what's up? What's the news on the inside?"

"The ghoulies are out"

"Are you fucking serious they're the last thing I want to deal with now"

"Yeah, I just wanted to give you the heads up"

"Thanks oh and by the way, I've sent you some money you should see it in your account tomorrow morning"

"Okay thanks, Queen"

"No problem be safe in there"

"I will" getting off the phone I walked into our 'club' room, and everyone was staring at me "what?"

"Nothing who was that on the phone your ex" Toni said laughing "Haha very funny it was War Baby she called me from Shankshaw. Her old adversaries, the Ghoulies, had been released word on the street is that they want Serpent blood, they're gunning for a re-match. They want war" I said sighing and sitting on the teacher's desk.

"Which one of you reptiles was screwing Midge Klump?" Reggie said storming into our classroom. "What the hell is going on? This is a private meeting." Jughead said walking up to Reggie "I'm guessing it was you, Sweet Pea." Reggie replied ignoring Jughead "Reggie, that's enough." Archie said standing next to Reggie I sighed I'm not about to deal with this today "You ass, I didn't even know Midge. But yeah, I get why she wouldn't want fleas from you mangy Bulldogs!" Sweets said and Reggie pushed him back and Sweets pushed him back.
