Not only is it the day that I loathe, but surprisingly, everybody has found out it's my birthday.
Right now I'm standing in the cafeteria, at exactly 07:38 in the morning, witnessing how all of my sort of friends, are singing to be on my birthday
Yay me!
Note the sarcasm.
Not wanting to sound like the ungrateful little bitch I appear to be, I just smile at everybody saying thank you and move to my usual table where I meet Carla, Vannah, Carmen and Jesse.
" Hey guys, " I say while slowly sitting down, searching if a certain dimpled, hazel-eyed, curly headed Australian has entered the building.
Wow, why did I just sound like Elvis Presley?
" Hey, birthday girl, " Vannah says, " How has your morning been? "
I blankly stare at her, hoping my expression gives her the answer.
It doesn't.
" Really? You're seriously asking me that? "
" Yes, indeed I am. "
" Well for starters, I was woken up by you three girls jumping on me screaming ; it's your birthday! " I say, pointing at Carla, Carmen and Vannah, " And then, you somehow convinced everybody to sing for me when-"
" Hey, that wasn't us! " Carmen screams, speaking for the first time since I walked in.
" Oh really? Then who? "
" Take a wild guess, " Carla says, a sly smirk playing on her lips, " It starts with an Ash and ends with a ton. "
Ashton made everybody do this?
" Speaking of lover boy..." Carla says, while looking at the door.
I look up, not hiding the smile as I see one specific boy walking in towards me, until I remember what he made everybody do.
The nerve of him!
Sure, a lot has happened in the last two weeks since the cliff, like the boys going on their first hunt, us becoming sort of friends, people saying I look way more happier since Ashton and I became a sort of thing, Carmen and Calum totally getting it on and last the most surprising one of all, the boys actually can go two whole hours without complaining when we train.
But still, that doesn't give him the right to just completely-
I'm cut off when Ashton places a kiss on my lips
Okay, the boy is forgiven.
" Happy birthday Levine, " He says as we break apart, " I got you something. "
I stare at him in surprise, he got me something? When? How? Where?
He reaches in the pocket of his worn-out hoodie, pulling out a box that usually holds an engagement ring..
Oh no.
No.
" Relax, it's not a ring, " He says, like he read my thoughts.
Whew!
Instead he opens then box and takes out the most beautiful necklace I've ever seen.
To say I'm shocked is an understatement, actually.
" Ashton where did you get this? " I ask, turning around to let my back face Ashton so he can put on the necklace.
" Well, remember our hunt? Yeah, well while I was suppose to stand guard I couldn't help but notice the jewelry store only a few meters away...and I just saw this and immediately thought of you" He says, blushing as he puts it on.
I try to hide the blush creeping to my cheeks, but it's a huge fail as I feel my cheeks redden.
" It's the most beautiful thing I've seen since the apocalypse started, " I say, as I give him a kiss on the cheek
He looks me in the eyes, " It's the second most beautiful thing I've seen. "
And this is the part where we romantically kiss like there's no tomorrrow, and in our case there might not be.
Until...
" Get a room! "
Oh yeah, we're still surrounded by 12 other people. I just look at Ashton and then continue to chat for awhile.
" Oh! I almost forget! " Niall suddenly interrupts our discussion about Nirvana being the best band ever, " Levine, I got you something! "
And as he pulls out his " gift " the entire table suddenly burst out laughing
He just pulls up his shoulder, " I figured since you're almost always in a bad mood you must have your period a lot. "
And then he hands me the pack of pads.
I also smile a little, looking around our table.
Today might not be that bad.
