Chapter 5: Eerie Night

Eerie Night

Nagsitulog na ang mga kasama ko. Law insisted to accompany me but I forced him to just sleep para sya naman bukas. Pero syempre, ako pa rin bukas. Mas kailangan ni Law ang tulog para mas lumakas siya.

Most of them are not comfortable to just sleep here in the living room. The girls decided to sleep on Aki's room and the others sleep on the remaining rooms. Si Law naman ay doon sa kwarto kung saan kami kanina at siniguro kong itabi nya sa pagtulog ang mga bag namin habang ang bag naman namin na may lamang mga armas ay nandito sa akin.

I lifted the heavy chair and carefully placed it in front of the door, blocking it. I just feel like doing it to serve as an alarm in case someone barge in. I swallowed my saliva as I stare at the door. I try to shake the fear away but the low growls from outside is not helping. Oo, naririnig na namin sila ngayon dahil siguro tahimik na ang lahat at wala kaming ibang maririnig kundi ang mga ungol lang nila. Although it's not the kind of groans where we should be alarmed, pero mahihirapan ka rin namang matulog kung iyon ang maririnig mo.

I guess eventhough they're not hungry or they're not chasing a prey, may lalabas pa rin na ungol mula sa kanila.

I slump on the sofa and rested my head on the backrest. I want to lay down but I'm afraid I might fall asleep. May tatlong oras pa naman ako.

Habang tulog ang lahat ay lumilipad ang isip ko sa kung paano kami napunta sa ganitong sitwasyon. Inilabas ko ang cellphone ko at dinial ang number nina Mama at Daddy pero parehas na hindi nagri-ring. I sigh in frustration. I believe that they could answer all my questions. Like how did all of this happened. Bakit naging ganito kalala ang epekto ng virus? For how many years, we didn't anticipate this but in all honesty, we have considered the possibility of humans turning into zombies.

At ngayon, nangyari na nga ang kinatatakutan naming lahat. Things like this are easy to imagine noong hindi pa ito nangyayari, pero ngayon? Ngayong nasa mismong sitwasyon na kami, it's horrible. I can't even explain how I feel in just one sentence. Ang alam ko lang ay nasa panganib kami at hindi namin alam kung hanggang kailan matatapos o kung may katapusan pa ba ang lahat ng ito. Kung meron man, hanggang kailan kami makikipaglaban para mabuhay? Kailan matatapos ang takot na nararamdaman namin?

I wish Mama and Dad is with us right now. I pray that they are safe and that one day, we will see each other again in Calova.

My tears stream down my cheeks and I just let it be since no one can see me right now.

Lumipad na naman ang utak ko sa nangyari kanina. That man who got bit, turned and got killed by Pierce. Nagpakawala ako ng malalim na hininga.

I don't want to judge Pierce but I can't help not to be bothered by the fact that he just easily killed that man. Is he used to it? The three of them, hindi ko makita sa kanila ang takot na nakikita ko sa mga kaibigan ko. Nakita ko na noon silang tatlo pero kahapon sa rooftop ay sila lang ni Pierce at Timo ang magkasama at 'yung isa pang kabatch namin na hindi ko alam kung ano ang nangyari doon.

The three of them are good looking with a well built body, I can say that they have spent most of their days in the gym. Pierce looks gorgeous with his black neatly crew cut hair, he has stubbles that suits his masculine features. Broad shoulders and tall. Strict, bossy and... Not my type. Aki looks handsome in his chinky eyes and brown buzz cut hair. He has a strong jaw which makes him look more manly. He's friendly and I guess, had been to many different relationships. Timothy is handsome as well. He has black hair in military cut and has stubbles as well. He's buff like the two. Out of the three, sya 'yong pinaka neutral. But they are all great and I'm thankful for all of them. Gusto kong magtanong sana kung ano ang mga trabaho nila pero mukhang hindi naman yun importante. We will be parting ways anyway.
