Some things are better left unsaid...

Sam scrunched her nose at the memories of her past.
The haunting memories seemed to appear in bits and pieces in her dreams, re-occuring every night as if to remind her of how much pain she had been put through.
She turned to her other side and buried her face into the pillow, as if that would help clear her mind.
Things worsened as she heard screaming in the distance. The blurry images of her parents, her younger self. Blood everywhere, almost like a massacre.
Mommy...? Sam heard her younger self say as she stood in a pool of blood.
It was the first time she had witnessed the unfairness of life and reality. It woke her up to see the world in a different way.
Mommy...? She heard her younger self say again. Hey! Wake up!
Mumbling in her sleep, she faintly heard herself say,"Wake the fuck up, damn it!"
Then Sam awoke to the sound of creaking.
She quickly opened her eyes and listened.
Soft padding noises came towards her as if someone was creeping up on her. If she listened closely, she could heard a muffled breathing.
The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, warning her to move out of the way.
At the very last second, Sam made a move and rolled off the side of the bed. She threw the covers on the person and quickly pinned them down, holding them still with as much strengh as she could to stop the person from further squirming.
She noticed the person was holding a razor in one of their slender, gray skinned hand.
Gray...skin...?
Sam took the covers of the person only to gasp in surprise. Of all the people, she didn't expect it to be the boy she had first met at the park.
Even now he still wore his blue mask for whatever unknown reason.
The boy chuckled, dropping the razor in surrender.
"What the actual fuck?" Sam hissed at the boy.
"Haha, ok, ok! You got me!"
Sam eyed the boy for a second before getting off him and backing away so as to make a gap between them.
"Sheesh, are you always this sharp, or are you just a light sleeper?" The boy brushed his hands up and down his black hoodie and chuckled again.
"What were you doing sneaking about, huh?" Sam avoided the obvious question and got out her scissors from the leg pockets of her trousers.
The boy turned his head in Sam's direction. Something seemed off about him, more off than the first time she had come across him anyway.
"Oh, you know, I was hungry for kidneys and decided, 'hey, why not try the new girl's kidneys?'" The boy held out his hand clumsily, it was as if he couldn't see out of the mask. And what was the black, tar-like substance running down his mask? "I'm Jack by the way. You can call me Eyeless, or E.J, up to you."
"Eyeless?" Sam asked.
Eyeless nodded his head before taking the mask off and pointing at the thick bandage that had been wraped around his head to cover his eyes.
His spiky, brown bangs went over the bandages as if they were like a head-band or something.
"Sooo, anyway..." Eyeless placed the mask back on his face and scratched the back of his head akwardly.
"I think I should be going... Oh! And here's some advice; get a new lock for your room door and keep the windows and curtains closed at night, that way nobody can steal you away so I can then get another chance to eat your kidneys!"
Sam stared at Eyeless as he left the room. She had never come across a killer so...odd. Not only that, but why did he seem chummy with her?
Nevermind that! Get your ass downstairs and make some snacks, I'm hungry! The voice at the back of Sam's mind nagged.
But you're always hungry... Sam thought with a sigh.
She had given up on sleep anyway, what was the hurt in making a midnight snack to shut her other up?
...Fine! Sam thought in annoyance before sneaking into the kitchen to make a sandwich and a glass of fresh milk.
.
"So, how was your first night, eh?" Splendor asked in a annoyingly cheery tone.
Sam proped her left elbow on the table and put her head in her palm with a sigh.
"Not very good, I'll tell you that. Do you ever stop being so...annoying?"
L.J chuckled. "That's just how he is, it's his element after all."
"Pffft, speak for yourself!" Sam muttered.
"Ooh, somebodies cranky this morning!" L.J teased.
"Shut the fuck up, clown!"
Splendor made what was considered a gasping sound and covered the side of his mouth, or rather the mask he wore, with a gloved hand.
"Don't swear, we have a child here!"
"Pffft, she's living in a mansion full of things that eat spaghetti and blood for dinner and go stalking children at night, and swearing in front of a killer child is what you're worried about?" Sam pointed out and rubbed her tired eyes. Dark circles had begun to shadow her eyes, making her look that much more moody.
"Ahem," Sally cleared her throat and clutched her teddy close. "I wish you would stop talking as if I'm not here. And please stop treating me like a child!"
"But you are a child!" Splendor stated.
"Grrrr, I died at a young age without even having a childhood to remember, I've had worse than people swearing in my presence so fuck you polka-douche!"
The three of them, and others at the table, all stared at the angry girl in surprise.
Her puffed face turned red, her eye twitching.
"Well...I think I should take Seed for a walk!" Eyeless muttered and left the kitchen, a big creature with tangly, black fur followed after him.
"Yeah, I just came here for some juice and cereal. I'm going back to play on my computer!" A small boy in green said and quickly left the room.
All was silent, besides Sally's heavy breathing. Slowly, she calmed down.
Sam watched the girl with amusement as she climbed the chair beside her and ate some cereal.
She reminded her of herself when she was a kid.
If only she could forget that.
