Friends can become enemies and enemies can become friends...

"Are you sure she's important?" Jane asked, proding Sam's head with the front of her left foot. "I mean, that wasn't even a fight!"
"Oh, trust me!" Dark replied smugly.
Sam could hear the grin in his voice as he spoke.
"She may be overrated, but she's valuable. Not exactly important though..."
Dark kneeled in front on Sam and turned her on her back.
"I wonder if Zalgo will care if we bring her back just a little...cut." Dark stroked Sam's hair. It was hard not to shiver at the touch.
Sam waited for her chance to strike.
Once she knew they had their guard down, she punched Dark in the face and plunged her extra pair of scissors into Dark's heart.
It wouldn't kill Dark, but it would make him weak. Very weak.
Now for the other one! Sam grinned at Jane through her split bottom lip.
It was hard to catch up with the girl, but she made it.
She leaped and pinned Jane down with all her might.
"I want to know why Zalgo wants me!"
Jane laughed. "Of course you do. And so do I!"
She kneed Sam in the ribs hard and grabbed her knife.
Their arms shook as Sam pushed the wrist of the hand that gripped the knife. Jane tried her best to bring it down on Sam's left eye.
"Tell me," she chuckled. "What did it feel like to have someone stab you in the eye? You must feel so asymmetrical."
Sam gritted her teeth. She couldn't hide it forever. It was obvious to anyone who saw it that it was a stab source.
And for anyone to comment on it, they would die, especially this bitch that Sam despised so much in such a short time.
"You can hardly talk! You wear a mask, probably to hide all those wrinkles caused by plastering on make-up!"
Jane said nothing, but continued to try and bring down the knife.
"Why are you resisting? Don't you want to have two mirrored eyes? I can gouge them both if that makes you feel better!" Jane hissed.
She held up her knife, ready to strike down hard. But something got her attension.
Suddenly, something hurled itself at Jane. They tumbled back until they hit a tree bark.
"Rake!?" Sam got up to her feet and looked around at the three.
Rake was slashing at Jane's face with his talons, hissing at her as she shouted insults at him. Her knife had been knocked out of her hand during the little tumble.
Dark on the other hand was still laying on the dirt floor of the forest.
"I know you're awake." Sam said.
Dark's eyes flickered open slowly, his laugh was shaky.
"This won't kill me, you know. I'm a phantom, just like I told you."
Sam's hardy expression didn't change as she looked down at the boy. It was hard to tell what she was thinking.
"So it's like that. Well then, I'll tell you something, only because you took me down to the ground though," Dark continued. "Zalgo intends to start a war in hopes to find something he lost years ago. Can you guess what it is?"
