Fear the night which hides many hostile beings

The soft noise of the wind blowing in her face made Sam calm.
She had forgotten how much she loved sneaking around at night with the adrenalin pumping through her body. Her heart raced with excitement as they neared a dimly lit house.
The stupid teenager who supposedly knew about the mansion on his way around the forest lived here.
According to Jeff, the teenager was going to snitch on them if he was to live any longer. They had to kill him tonight.
Jeff glanced in Sam's direction with a nod. She was the one who would find a way in.
Ducking below the window of the dimly lit room, Sam tried the front door, of course, it was locked.
There was no tree or any object that would help her climb up to the windows above, and all the windows were locked.
Sam thought for a second, ignoring Jeff's pressuring.
Sam peered into the dimly lit room and narrowed her eyes.
It looked like a study room, juging by the many books on the shelves.
A vintage looking desk sat in front of the window, along with a chair with a velvet green cussion. A lamp had been lit on the desk and a man gazed into the fireplace at the other side of the room oposite to the only door in the room, meaning an exit.
"What are you doing!?" Jeff growled quietly as Sam brought her fist up to the window.
"I'm getting us inside the house, duh!"
A minute later, the window was unlocked and pushed up. The man looked out of the window curiously, oblivious to the two killers ready to end his life at any moment.
Quickly, Sam stood up and grabbed the man's throat, squeezing tightly until the man became weak, his features turning dull and pale.
"Smile!" Sam muttered and threw the man onto the desk chair.
"Let's just get this over with!" Jeff muttered and pushed himself up onto the window ledge.
Sam quickly followed afted him.
"I thought you liked killing, Jeffrey."
Jeff quickly turned to give Sam a glare. His voice sounded rough as he whispered back a reply, "Not when I have to bring you along and babysit you!"
"Pffft, more like the other way around. I am the one that got us into the house here!"
"Thomas!" A female voice called from the other side of the door.
The two killers jumped and gave eachother a wide-eyed look. Sam did anyway, Jeff already had wide eyes.
"What now?" Sam whispered.
"I don't know!" Jeff snapped.
"Well think!"
A knock came from the other side of the door.
"Thomas?"
Quickly, the two hid as the door opened.
From Sam's point of view, the dead body of Thomas whom she had killed earlier looked like he was asleep with his head resting on the desk, facing away from the door.
From this point the two had no choice but to kill the whole family wether they liked it or not. The truth was, Sam did like it. She wanted blood to spill all over the walls and guts to cover the floor.
Keep calm! Sam told herself. ...Can't just yet!
"Thomas..." the woman sighed as she entered the room to shake her husband awake.
He was cold.
While the woman inspected her husband closely, Jeff quietly neared the woman, his knive held up, ready to stab.
There wasn't a moment left to waste.
Sam didn't have all night, and neither did the teenage boy.
She left Jeff to finish off the woman in the study and searched the house for the boy.
Surprisingly, the house was big and had many rooms. Sam wouldn't be surprised if it had two bathrooms.
As she checked each room, she came accross a little girl, probably around the age of six, laying asleep with a big, beige teddy. It's glass eyes seemed to watch Sam's every move.
She didn't know what to do.
Soon, the sound of light footsteps could be heard behind her. But she didn't need to turn around to know who it was.
"Let me kill this little thing! After all, I'm in charge as far as this mission goes!"
Sam sighed and rolled her eyes. "Whatever!"
.
The room was dark, but not dark enough to prevent Sam from seeing the boy crouched in the corner.
His eyes had rolled to the back of his head, the whites shining as tears appeared in them. His skin was incredibly pale, and so were his lips.
He let out a groan as he tried to stand up, his bones poping.
"Holy shit..." Sam muttered as the boy stood in the middle of the room. His head snapped in Sam's direction at her comment.
"You..." The boy said letting out a breath. "You..."
The boy began to stagger towards Sam with blind rage. His lip curling back into what looked like a sneer.
"Stupid girl!"
"Well would you look at that! The little bastard's been possesed!"
"You killed the girl already?" Sam asked.
Jeff nodded without taking his eyes off the boy.
"And the stupid mutt under her bed."
The air felt heavy as Sam breathed in. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she could feel the pressence of a stronger being.
"Get down!" Jeff shouted as a fire ball flew directly at them.
"We need to eliminate the boy and get out of here!"
"No shit!" Sam muttered and smelt smoke.
The fire ball had hit something behind them and had started to eat at the house's walls like a beast of fire.
Deciding on their options, Jeff threw his knive at the boy. It stuck itself right into his throat.
"Run!"
Without hesitating, the two left the burning house and it's gory contents.
It was only a matter of time the police would be here and on their trail.
"What in the hell was that!?" Sam asked breathlessly.
If it weren't for the streetlamps, they would have taken longer to find their way around the empty street.
Sirens sang in the distance behind them.
When Jeff turned his head to look at Sam, she could have sworn she saw a grim look in his eyes. And for the first time in a while, the feeling of dread filled her.
"That was Zalgo."
