Y/N Pov

Well, I'm finally here. I've settled into my dorm room (I managed to charm my way into getting one of the single rooms) and thankfully my room  is right next to the girl from Beauxbaton's room. I spoke to her briefly, she offered to help me with my bags, her name is Eleanor but she likes being called Ellie - she thinks 'Eleanor' is too old fashioned. She seems sweet, definitely best friend material.
My room was actually quite big. It was at the very end of the hallway- it was in a weird section of 'in between' dormitories rooms- as in, they didn't belong to a specific house.
There was a large double bed in the centre with a window behind it, a cute little windowsill perfect for a plant. I'm awful at keeping plants alive but I'm determined this time! There's a chest of drawers against the left wall, it's a little rickety and old but it's er.. vintage I suppose.. Next to it is a little en suite. When I say little I mean little. There is barely room to walk but it's just for me so I'll survive. There wasn't a desk in my room though but that's ok, I like working on my bed anyway.
As I was unpacking my clothes into the chest of drawers, there was a knock on my door.
"Helloooo! It's Ellie, open up!" I smiled a huge smile and went straight to open the door.
"Hii!" I looked down and noticed she was holding a basket of cookies.
"I made these before I left but they're still soo good, do you fancy one?"
"Yeah sure! Thanks." I eagerly grabbed a cookie, they smelt amazing and tasted even better. I looked at her with an amazed look on my face.
"Good right?" She said taking one for herself. I 'mmed' in agreement, wiping a crumb off my chin and stepped back gesturing for her to come in.
I took a moment to admire her. I hadn't really noticed before but she really was beautiful. She had delicate features and slightly pointed ears that protruded from her perfectly curled, pale blonde hair. Her nose was littered with freckles, her eyelashes were long and wispy and framed her iridescent eyes perfectly.
She plopped the basket onto the chest of drawers and immediately two of the legs gave way and the whole thing toppled over. We stood in slight shock then looked at each other. We both burst out laughing. We laughed almost hysterically for at least two  minutes.

"Oh my god ! I'm so sorr-". She couldn't even finish her sentence before we both erupted into laughter again. We composed ourselves enough to form full sentences.

"Don't worry about it I'll just break the other two legs off to even it out."

We giggled and looked at each other, wiping tears of laughter from our eyes. She pulled me into a big hug and let out one more tiny laugh before pulling away and grabbing her basket from the now slanted surface of the chest of drawers.
"Right, well I suppose I'll see you tomorrow for the sorting ceremony!", she said reaching for the door.
"Yeah! I'll knock on your door in the morning, we can walk together. "
"Okay! Another cookie?"
"Um obviously", I took another cookie and smiled a thank you smile. She grinned back.
"Cool, see you tomorrow!"
"Byee!" I shut the door behind her and leant against the closed door. I looked at the now even more crooked dresser and chuckled to myself. All my worries about not making friends all evaporated away and were replaced with bubbles of excitement to see what house I would be sorted into. I honestly had no clue where I was going to be placed  but I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow..
