As we were hanging out, I could feel you getting more distant. Was it because of all the bad things happening around you that were making you numb or was it just you avoiding me? So here we sat on swings beside each other in a silence that once used to be comfortable, now just a chilly uncomfort.
I looked towards you, you were lost in thought. I stood up and walked towards you so that I was face to face with you. Asking for consent to hug you, when you nodded I hugged you tight. Perhaps hoping you realise you were not alone. We stayed there in the hug until you released your anger or perhaps sadness in the form of tears.
Who would have thought that only one person was praying you both stay close like this forever? You said forever and I fell for it, those lies were like the melody to my ears which will soon turn into taggers for my heart.
