Chapter two: The palace

TW: mention of blood and death in the beginning

Y/n POV:
Dream + flashback

I was about ten years old when I saw my father entering our house covered in blood. I was shocked and froze in my place, I didn't know what to do "Father?" I shockingly said.

"It's ok dear, it's me come here." He said trying to assure me that everything was ok. I went to him slowly and then hugged him.

I asked stuttering "A-are you o-ok father? Why are you b-bleeding".

"I will be ok daughter go call your mother for me." He assured me and gave me a kiss on my forehead before hugging me tight like it was his last time. He then let me go to call my mother.

And before I had a chance to go and call her, she came into the living room with a shocked face and ran to my father and said "what in the Norse happened to you Ivar? Are you ok dear? Let me take you to the healers" she held him crying with a trembled voice.

"I'm ok now Astrid, I'm ok now" he said hugging her.

End of dream

I woke up sweating and scared. Why did I had this dream, correction, nightmare? That was the last time I saw my father. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I saw my mother take him to their room to clean him and let him rest. The next morning my mother asked me to wake him for breakfast, and when I tried to wake him up, he wasn't moving.

"Father, father wake up. Please wake up, don't leave us." I was crying trying to wake him up. "Mother come fast, father isn't waking up" I shouted trying to get my mother in the room "please father, please wake up don't leave I need you. We need you".

I shook my head from that memory and started to get ready for the day. I went to the bathroom and took a quick bath. Letting the warm water cover my body, then I started to scrub my body. I sat there for a little while and drifted with my thoughts. After a couple of minutes, I got off to dry myself with my F/c towel. I went to the sink, took my toothbrush and brushed my teeth. After I was done I took my hairbrush and started to brush my hair. After I was done, I got out of the bathroom. Changed quickly and went to the kitchen.

I prepared breakfast for me and my mother, and kept her food in the oven. She was still sleeping. I didn't want her to stress herself out. So, I wrote her a note that says the food was in the oven and I will be going to the palace to inform them about your condition and when I come back, I will be taking you to the healers.

I got out of the house and went to our farm, and immediately saw my horse, Alvis, so excited to see me. I went to him and pet his head and said "hello there, how is my handsome boy" he just neighed in excitement to get out. I got him out of his stable, and put on the basic equipment on him. When I was done putting everything I jumped on the horse and rode to my destination.

When I arrived at the palace, I got off the horse and tied him next to a tree. "Ok Alvis this won't take long. I will be back in a few minutes, and behave while I'm gone." I told him and he just neighed at me. I smiled, winked at him, and then I went to walk on the huge golden stares. As I reached the top of the stairs, a few guards stopped me asking me why I was here. I simply told them who I was and what was the purpose of me being here. They told me to wait a few minutes.

While I was waiting, I saw a tall pale man with raven black hair. He wasn't skinny nor muscular, but he was very handsome. He was walking and glanced at me and quickly smirked and continued his walk. I just ignored him and waited for the guards to let me in. After a few minutes, a guard came and told me to follow him. When I walked through the palace, I was looking in awe. I never have seen anything like this, the whole place was made out of gold and it really surprised me.

As I walked, the guard led me to a door and opened it. I was greeted by a beautiful woman, she had beautiful long blond curls, blue eyes, and a smile that could light up a whole room. I saw her gesturing for the guards to leave. She got close to me and said "Hello child, I was informed that you wanted to talk to me about your mother, Astrid?" I simply nodded. And then she continued "What seems to be the problem my dear?"

I explained to her the situation and told her that I was taking my mother to the healers afterwards. She just looked at me with a smile and told me "You can bring her here. I can let the healers of the palace to check up on her. After all, she is a very hard-working woman who served us well." I simply nodded and did what she told me.

Time skip

When I arrived back at the palace with my mother and went to see the women from before. I saw my mother curtsy and said "my queen thank you for your kind offer to help me." My face went completely red from the embarrassment. By the Norse, I didn't know who she was, especially not the queen. Well, it's not my fault that I was living far away from the city and not knowing anything about it.

The queen was escorting my mother and me to the healer's room. They were ahead of me and I was behind them. While walking I casually looked to my right, I stopped and saw the raven black headed man from before, he was cornering a woman and kissing her passionately. He looked at his shoulder and saw me with a smirk on his face. I immediately looked away with a blushed face and started moving, to catch up.

We went to the medic and they scanned my mother's body. I stood beside her holding her hand. I was so nervous for her and it showed on my face. The queen saw me and put her hand on my shoulder and whispered to me that everything will be alright. After a few minutes one of the healers looked at us and said "you're all good, there is nothing to worry about."

I looked at her in disbelief and said "she wasn't feeling ok yesterday she was dizzy and almost fell"

My mother looked at me and gave a look to calm me down and said "Maybe it was because of work I told you I was exhausted from working yesterday".

The queen interrupted us and said to my mother "maybe it's because you are getting old dear, you have worked for us for so long I think it's time for you to rest."

This is the end of this chapter sorry if it was too long and boring for some people, I just want you guys to understand that this is new to me and tell me what to focus on more. But I promise the next chapter will have more Y/n and Loki interaction.
