I finish showering, getting dressed, brushing my hair and teeth, and eating breakfast just before 11:00. Already, I'm out the door.
Ben, Owen, Chase, Avery, Julia, and Ashley are already outside as well. I join in their game of lightning.
11:00 goes to 7:00!
My first day of summer has been awesome! First of all, no Gingee!
We played basketball and football. Chase and I hit the tennis ball back and forth. We rode our bikes to Dairy Boy and got awesome ice cream! This was around 1:00. We spent the rest of the day swimming in Julia's pool.
As I dry off and walk down the street with Owen and Avery, the thought hits me. I want..... I NEED to go check the forest right now. See if it's still there. I tell Owen and Avery I'll meet up with them later.
Ashley and Julia are still drying off when I get to Julia's house. I make sure her parents aren't around and pull them into the corner of the fence.
"What is it?" Ashley asks nervously. "Nothing. But I'm worried about the you-know-what. Can we go check on it? I told the others we'd meet up with them later," I say.
"I've been thinking about that all day Josie," says Julia. "Then let's go check. Nothing will be wrong, trust me." Ashley sounds so confident when she says this, I almost wonder if she's thought a little about it too.
"I'll meet you in 10 minutes," I say.
I run home. I'm anxious to check on this. I get changed into a tigers shirt and some orange shorts. I throw on my Nikes and head out the door. Ashley is already at Julia's house. When Julia finally comes out, we head to the woods. It better be there.
