The footsteps from the path gradually grew louder, closer to you and Chris. You couldn't help but grip onto his jacket, as he peered his head around the wall, keeping an eye on the Lycan. His body pressing you more against the wall. You didn't think he had noticed what he had been doing, or how close you two were. You leaned your head back against the wall. You had dealt with these bastards so many times, since they came back, and before Chris's groups even showed up, and if it was only one they were simple to take out with the right kind of bullets. You removed your hands from Chris's jacket, as you reached for the gun he had given you that you had clipped to your belt. You looked down at the dirt and snow covered path, seeing a few objects that could have been a good distraction. You pushed Chris away, as he looked down at you.
"What a..."
You kicked a metal piece into the pathway, as the Lycan snapped its head towards the direction. Snarling, as it started to make it's way towards the both of you. You lifted your gun as you jumped in front of it. You heart racing inside your chest, feeling your heart pound from the adrenaline.
"Y/N!" Chris called, worry in his voice.
You breathed, as you pulled the trigger watching the lycan fall back, without much of a sound besides a whimper. You huffed, satisfied until you looked up at Chris. Fury written in plain sight all over his face. "What? It's dead." You glared back at him, daring to stand up against him.
"Are you fucking stupid? You could have gotten yourself killed!"
"Then you'd have one less person to drag you down in this village, Mr. Redfield. I'm no use to you hardly with my recovering memories of this place." You retorted, taking a step closer to him in the alleyway where you two had been moments ago. You watched his face drop slowly, as he kept his mouth shut for a long time, as he looked off in the distance.
"Let's find a decent shelter, to stay in for the night."

A few hours later, Chris hadn't said much besides sitting by the small fire in the fireplace after you both ahd found a decent house, to block off any danger for at least a few moments or minutes depending the monster. You hugged yourself, trying to stay warm. As you watched the flames flicker in the dim light room. You couldn't happen but glance at the expressionless look on his face. Wondering what had really been going on his mind. Maybe he would open up eventually, but now wasn't the time.
"I've lost to many people, Y/N." Chris broke the silence. "I.. I mean I applaud you, for taking that son of a bitch down, but I kind of need you alive. Not just for your information but I can't bare to lose another person." He said, taking out a bottle of alcohol he had must have found in the cupboard. He stood up and walked over, sitting next to you. You opened your mouth about to say something but he looked at you. "Don't." He took a swig from the bottle as he handed you the bottle. You silently took a drink letting the bitter taste of wine slide down your throat, but it gave you a sense of warmness for a few moments until it passed. You sighed, tiredly. You jumped a bit as you felt an arm wrap around your shoulders. Honestly you were to tired to care, from the events from the last few days. You rested your head on his shoulder. Hearing the howls in the distance, you gradually closed your eyes.
"I'll take first watch." He whispered in your ear.
(HELLO ALLLLLLL, Sorry I've been MIA, life and work is killing me. But here's some soft mushy Redfield feels... to keep ya going, let's get some feelings.)
