Kazutora was picked up by Baji and the beating he had endured was evident. He told his friend about getting attacked by the Black Dragons. Keisuke knew in his heart that if one of them gets hurt the others are there to fight that battle too. He reassured Kazutora that it wouldn't go down as a defeat. Baji told Mikey who called a meeting with all of his friends. They met at the Musashi shrine and there they established the Tokyo Manji Gang. All for one and one for all, their mission statement. The Invincible Mikey as their leader. Kazutora had found a home and a family. He felt comfortable in his skin and safe in the company of the founding members. But he knew that something was still missing. Y/n. She's my friend too. I have Toman and I have her. I need to apologize to her before summer break, then I can spend all that time making up for all the trouble I've caused. And maybe kiss her? No. Nope. She's my friend, I don't like like her. Do I?
He waited at the bottom of the staircase for her before school, extra early so he wouldn't miss her. Y/n made her way down the stairs after wishing her mom a good day at work. School was going so well for her. Her grades were decent, and she had plenty of friends. It could be overwhelming at times; it wasn't the joy ride elementary school had been. However, every morning she went into the school day with a smile on her face. Y/n didn't stop when she noticed Kazutora, but looked over her shoulder as she passed him. "Fancy seeing you here Tora." she smirked and it made him blush. He had never felt so flustered around her before, it was a foreign feeling. "I think it's about time things get back to normal." He covered his anxiousness and smiled brightly. She nodded back to him as he caught up with her. "I agree. Good to have you back." She smacked his shoulder, hard, "You were turning into a serious dickhead."
"Yeah about that," he scratched the back of his head, stretching one arm back, "I'm real sorry, Y/n. I tried standing out, I tried to be cool, I tried keeping my friends all to myself, and tried keeping you all to myself. I wasn't fair. You're right. I was a dickhead, so I'm sorry. I want to make it up to you." Y/n could only laugh it off. She understood the boy better than he realized. She had accepted his mood swings a long time ago. "You said so the other day, we're always going to be friends Tora." It was his turn to nod, and they enjoyed comfortable silence on their way to school.Y/n had spent time reconsidering and examining their friendship. Her conclusion was that Kazutora was worth it. The baggage he came with did not outweigh the positive contributions the friendship carried for her. She argued whether or not she was being sentimental, considering he was her first friend when she originally moved tp Tokyo two years ago. Being honest with herself that was most likely a heavy influence on her ultimate decision. But all of her best memories of her new home were with Tora. It didn't help that she had started to take notice to his new height, his voice deepening, his build filling out. Y/n always knew he was handsome, it was all these new discoveries that had her a little extra giddy that they were friends again. He's my best friend. It's not a crush, just an appreciation. Their friendship had just mended. Neither Y/n nor Kazutora was going to ruin it by confessing feelings they denied having in the first place. They kept quiet and were only slightly awkward. Kazutora wanted to contribute to the conversation before he didn't see her for the rest of the day.
"So do you want to hang out this weekend? I'm going riding with Toman to the beach to kick off summer break." Y/n hesitated, how do you tell a boy you have your period? You don't, "Toman?" Kazutora smiled wide and genuine, "Yeah it's the name of our gang. Me, Baji, Mikey, Draken, Mistuya, and Pah." Y/n beamed back, she was so happy Tora had made such good friends. But her expression dropped knowing that she couldn't join the boys. "I can't, I promised my mom I'd go see my grandparents this weekend. Maybe when I get back we can do something?" Kazutora continued to walk Y/n to her locker, "Definitely. Just text me, or call me." Y/n raised an eyebrow, "You never gave me your number Tora, you said you only use it to talk to important people." He facepalmed, "I said that?" His voice whiney and upset. Y/n nodded slowly, avoiding eye contact. "I'm so sorry Y/n. Here just call yourself from my phone so we can save our numbers." Still avoiding having to look him in the eyes Y/n took the flip phone phone from Kazutora's hands. He was flushed with discontent, looking pale and slightly nauseous. Why am I such a piece of shit? But the feelings washed away when she handed the phone back happy, "I'll see you after school, walk home with me?"
"Ye-,Yeah I'll meet you at the gate." and he watched Y/n make her way to class.
