Chifuyu picked up his pace and placed a hand on Y/n's shoulder, "I got my car here. We can take that." Her eyebrow perked up, and a mischievous smirk slowly spread on her face. "You gunna let me drive?"
"No!" He was reprimanding and loud with his response causing Tora to freeze like he was the person in trouble. "I almost died last time you drove Y/n." Chifuyu started to look pale remembering the one and only time he ever let her drive his car. He turned to Kazutora, "When I first got my car, she convinced me to let her drive it. She hit 120 on the high way and my life flashed before my eyes." Tora could only smirk, and laugh softly. In his mind he pictured a twelve-year-old, adventurous Y/n in the driver's seat with a big happy smile on her face. The same one she'd make when she was riding with Toman and one of the guys decided to take off fast with her on the back of the bike. He looked towards her fondly and she grinned back then turned her attention back to Chifuyu, "Listen, you get a new car. A nice car. A fast car. The first thing you need to do is see just how far you can push it." She slapped the hood of his car, "What happened to the dare devil delinquent I used to know?" She looked over her shoulder at Chifuyu as she snuck her way to the driver's side door. He stood firmly in front of her. "He retired. Back seat. Now." He poked his thumb over his shoulder, behind his back. Y/n rolled her eyes but as she got into the backseat she looked back towards Tora and winked. He could feel his face getting hot so he ducked into the car quickly to avoid embarrassment.

They were all situated in their seats and making their way to the destination. Y/n leaned onto Kazutora's seat, perching her arms on its shoulder and resting her chin on her arms. She wanted to ask about the grocery bag incident but understood Tora well enough to know that the odd encounter most likely was a reflection of his emotional state. He just wasn't ready to say hi yet. "So do you go out a lot now that you're back home?" He couldn't face her yet. He felt as if looking towards her, in her eyes, so close, he would combust. His heart was full of longing and wanting and his mind was full of apologies and guilt. He cleared his throat, "Not really. I mean, I'll go out with Chifuyu occasionally but mostly I just stay in." Chifuyu pitched into the conversation, "He's a homebody, except when all the guys get together than he's always down for a good time." Y/n fell back into her seat dramatically, "So I really was the last person to find out he was back. I just saw Mitsuya last week to fix a pair of pants for me and he didn't say a thing."
"Well, I haven't been out for very long so they were probably waiting for me to bring you up." He side- eyed her nervously, worried he had offended her by not telling her he was back around sooner. "That makes sense. Better late than never." She put her hand gently on his arm, "I'm so happy you're home, Kazutora." His heart panged, bittersweet. She's happy I'm home. But she hasn't called me Tora like she used to. He smiled softly, "I'm happy too."

Chifuyu parked and the trio made their way into the bar. The room was a decent size with a long bar table across an entire wall. Stools lined against it. Scattered throughout the rest of the establishment was booths with deep red seats, black tables, and wooden accents. It had grandiose decorations so it could resemble a speakeasy or a jazz club. With the drinks cheap and the cool atmosphere, the bar attracted patrons in their twenties and was usually buzzing with guests. The three of them were lucky enough to find a booth open towards the back wall. As they walked through the place Tora noticed a couple men at a table stop mid-drink to look towards Y/n. Jealousy rushing in on him. He made sure to stand directly in their line of vision, glaring at them with narrowed eyes. He almost put his arm around her shoulders like he used to when they were younger.
"What're you doing Tora?" a younger Y/n said as her boyfriend flung his arm around her and cheesed big at the boys at the arcade that were watching Y/n play PacMan. "I'm just letting everyone here know you're taken." And then he planted a big kiss on her cheek, making her blush.

The flashback of the memory warmed him up, and he relaxed his tense shoulders as he followed Y/n and Chifuyu to the booth. Y/n noticed the second they stepped into the bar the way the women turned to their friends to whisper and gawk at her two companions. Over the years she had gotten used to it, considering how handsome all of her friends had grown up to be. Chifuyu had always been a hopeless romantic when they were kids so now that he got female attention, he would soak it up, but then had no idea what to do with it. You'd think after reading all those books he'd have some game. She giggled as she slid into her seat, "What're you laughing about?" Chifuyu asked looking away from the bar. He was checking to see which bartender was working tonight. "You're just both oblivious." She said to the men now sitting across from her. "Oblivious?" Kazutora asked, genuinely confused. "You've both managed to catch the attention of every lady in this place tonight."
"Really?" Chifuyu lit up and started looking around to see if any of them were still looking at him now. Kazutora got stiff again, he was so focused on guys looking at Y/n he didn't even notice any of the women. "Oh stop." She put her hand on Chifuyu's cheek and forced his gaze back towards his own table. "You've got no chance, bud. A for effort though." She lightly tapped his cheek twice. She looked to Tora, "You on the other hand. Now that you're out of lock up you can finally get laid." She laughed heartily and Chifuyu joined. Tora could only let out a half-hearted laugh folding his hands in front of him on the table. He radiated awkwardness. Y/n put a hand over his cupped ones. "I'm sorry, too soon?" She looked at him sincerely and he shook his hands. "No, no, no worries. Haha. But when it comes to woman, I'm probably more useless than this guy." He pointed towards Chifuyu who stopped laughing to fake offense which made Y/n go right back into a laughing fit. Tora could only adore her, I missed that sound so much.
