The sun coming into the bedroom through the mats wakes me up, servants came at some point last night to pull them up again but I didn't notice it because I was sound asleep hugging a princess. I fidget awkwardly on the mattress, I know it must be early in the morning but it's already too hot for me, the linen sheet is tangled on my waist and Ruby Rose's legs while she keeps sleeping next to me. I can't help smiling while my eyes travel all over the outline of the tattoos on her back and I remember the hours we spent together: the whispers, moans, laughs, her touch, perfume, the softness of her skin, her taste...
I frown confused when a thought makes its way through my mind like a flash. Why am I awake? I assumed that was going to be my last night, the last wet dream... How much time do I need to die for the lack of oxygen? Maybe the perception of time is different for those who are in a coma. This is my second day in Egypt, does it mean it's Sunday in my world? Workers will be back tomorrow and they'll find me in the tomb... or not? This is so weird...
Ruby turns on the mattress and puts her arm around my waist, it's funny that her hot skin doesn't bother me despite the sun is shining bright up in the sky, and I focus on her precious face and plump lips, I run my fingers through her short hair slowly and she sighs moving even closer to me to lean her head on my shoulder.
"Meri..." I whisper and she smiles.
"Good morning!" Atet opens the door suddenly and gets into the room followed by Tiaa and some servants, scaring the death out of me. They both look insultingly happy and fresh despite it's too early while picking up our crumpled dresses from the floor and giving them to the young boys that will wash them. "So... it seems to me that the divine creature is interested in earthly things..."
"Atet!" Ruby growls angrily raising her head abruptly but her friend chuckles and points at the servants so they know where to set the table for our breakfast while Tiaa looks for a dress for the princess in a trunk. "I'm sorry... Good morning, Iselen..." I touch the pout on her lips with my thumb and lean forward to kiss her.
"Good morning, Praa Sat. Wonderful thanks to you..." The princess smiles and stretches her limbs on the mattress like a cat not caring if she's naked in front of these people, although no one looks at her and all servants keep their eyes fixed on the floor or the table they're covering with bowls full of delicious food that smells heavenly. I take the linen sheet to cover my body discreetly since I don't feel as comfortable with this situation and sit down on the bed. Atet stops in front of me and gives me some kind of linen robe with a belt.
"Thank you..."
"So... Do you like earthly things?" the young Egyptian girl asks winking at me mischievously and I nod.
"I like the Daughter of Isis a lot, if that's what you're asking me..." I answer dropping the sheet and getting up to put on the robe quickly; Atet stares at me closely, like she's checking me out, and nods satisfied finally.
"Isis' servants look fit, certainly..." she whispers and I can't help blushing. "Light beer, pomegranate juice, porridge with honey for breakfast..."
"Sounds good," I nod getting closer to the table where the princess is already taking a seat and pouring herself a glass of juice. "What are the plans for today?" I ask with curiosity, I want to know what I should expect of my last day in Egypt, because this is going to be my last day... isn't it?
"We'll take it easy this morning, we could go to the swimming pool if you want, then we'll eat something light and will get ready for banquet that will take place in the great hall... Maybe I could introduce you to my father, the Great Royal Wife, the High Priest of Amun and other important people working at the Court..."
