Claudia: My boyfriend Michael and I drove up to his mothers house for her birthday celebration. Him and I weren't on the greatest of terms at the time but we still had a great time dancing and laughing with his whole family. I loved spending time with them because they made me felt like I was just another family member.
After dinner, Michael's aunt brought out the cake so we could sing happy birthday.
"Babe can you go grab my phone real quick? I wanna record this!"
"Sure baby."
I made my way past everyone to the living room where Michael had left his phone on the mantle.
I picked his phone up and as soon as I did, it vibrated in my hand. I didn't want to look but I couldn't help myself so I flipped the phone over. Right at the top of the screen was a iMessage notification.
Haley: Did you get rid of your girl yet?? I miss you daddy 🤪
"Oh my god..." I mumbled to myself as I unlocked his phone and quickly started to scroll through their messages.
Their messages went on and on for weeks, he talked to her like he loved her. Saying he missed her and couldn't wait to see her again, and talking about how he was leaving work early so they could spend time together.
Him and I just had an argument about how he spends so much time working and we never have time together anymore, and I guess it was because he was spending all his time with her.
"What was taking you so long?" I heard Michael say as he approached me. "You missed everything and-"
"Who is Haley?" I tried to say without my voice breaking. "Why the fuck is she asking you if you've gotten rid of me yet?"
"What the fuck Claudia?" He asked as he snatched his phone away from me. "Why were you going through my shit?!"
"You two have been talking non-stop, you've been seeing her while you're supposed to be at work and telling her you miss her. Do you love her Michael?"
"We're not gonna do this here, okay?"
"Just tell me why you're talking to her."
"I said we're not doing this here Claudia!" He started to raise his voice. "Just let it go!"
"How many times am I supposed to just let shit go Michael? This is the second time in less than a year so obvious you're not happy and I'm-"
"Can you just chill? I said I'm not fucking doing this at my moms house!"
"What can't happen at moms house?" We both turned and saw his mom standing there with his aunts and a few other family members coming from the dining room. "What's going on?"
