Chapter 7

It had been a few days since going to the party with Luke and Calum. My parents had returned from their vacation but I hadn't really seen them much. My parents would most likely be spending time with their friends. They brought groceries back with them so I can't complain. I think that was the first nice thing they've done in awhile.

A few of my friends wanted to chill today. I had a study session with Luke today but I could chill with them before studying. No one could give me shit about having a tutor because I would beat their ass.

I got dressed and quickly made my way to Mike's house. Violet greeted me with a big hug.

"I missed you, Zo!" She smiled.

"Don't call me that." I groaned.

"But your boyfriend calls you that." She teased.

"He's not my boyfriend, Violet." I pushed her arms from me and walked into the living room and greeted other people.

"Aye!" Ashton said happily. "Walker, it's been so long!" He ran over to me.

His arms enveloped me in a big hug. I haven't seen him in months. I met Ashton at a party Mikey was throwing and hit it off. I exchanged numbers with him and we kept in touch whenever we weren't busy. I hadn't seen him in a few months because he went off to college.

"Irwin!" I cheered. We called each other by our last names, it was our thing.

"How've you been?" He said, leading me out of the living room into the kitchen. "I've been good, actually. I'm passing all of my classes, I'm not getting into as much trouble," I laughed.

"That's good, Zoe. I'm proud of you!"

He came off as the really nice older brother. Overall, a great person to have in your life. His laugh could make anyone's day.

"How's college life been?"

"It's been great! Tons of pretty girls." He blushed.

"Aw, you're blushing," I pinched his cheek. "Do you have a special girl in mind?"

"No." He lied. His bright pink cheeks betrayed him.

"I'll get it out of you, Ash. That's a promise." I pinched his cheek again.

"She's really pretty. Light brown hair, hazel eyes, she plays softball and volleyball and she's funny. She's just great." He gushed. "I'm not saying her name because you'll tease the shit out of me."

I hugged him again before finishing saying hello to people. I gave some people a hug before I sat down next to Michael and Violet on the couch. He handed me a cup filled with cheap beer.

"Tastes like shit, but feel free to drink it."

This get-together was lame as shit but it was with my friends. I couldn't complain.

We sat and caught up. Nick had got into the college of his dreams as well as Ashton. Paul was failing half of his classes, which surprised no one. Jen was in a new relationship. Violet and Michael had sex before everyone came over. We all knew that.

"What about you, Zoe? You've been awfully quiet." Michael asked. "What about your boyfriend?" He smirked.

"Boyfriend?" Ashton asked, passing the blunt to someone else. He didn't smoke like the others did.

"I don't have a boyfriend. He's just my tutor." I stated, hiding my face behind my hands.

"You like your tutor! You like your tutor!" Everyone began teasing me. Not even for the fact that I had a tutor.
