I FINALLY got to go see Shang-Chi with my dad today. 100/10 recommend seeing it. It's SO GOOD. I actually had this exact scenario in a dream I had last night. I thought it was pretty cute. Idk, I might be the only one who's slightly crushing on Simu Liu.

Enjoy <3

"Wanna go outside?" You looked over at your 'friend' Shaun. He glanced back at you, the corners of his lips working at the beginnings of a smile. "What's outside?" He asked. "Oh... I dunno. Cliffs?" You grinned.

Shaun had called you that morning to tell you he'd gotten a gig house sitting for an old family friend with a giant house. He invited you over immediately.

"We could...go cliff jumping?" You suggested.

You, of course, knew about his past. How could you not when you had a past of your own? When he'd gained the power of the ten rings after his father died, you decided that it'd be best to move back to Earth. You'd grown up in Ta Lo until 'Shaun' arrived.  You'd taught him the ancient art of air bending, shown him the water dragon, and taught him of the ancient legend: the soul eaters. There was hardly a thing you could do when the soul eaters returned, but if it wasn't for Katy and her quick arrows, you'd all be dead.

You could still remember the morning Shang Chi had come through the forest in that strange car.

He'd stepped out of the car speaking in earthen Chinese, your second language. Many of your people were scared to see outsiders at first, but you very quickly took a liking to Shang and Katy. They seemed more normal than most of the villagers in Ta Lo. So despite everything in you telling you to stay, you left.

Shaun sighed. He looked over at you again, this time a smile on his face. "Let's go." He said, jumping up and running to the patio door. You ran after him, following only a few paces behind. He got to the edge of the cliff first, pulling his shirt off. "You ready?" He asked, staring down at the water. "Wait. How are we supposed to get back up?" You realized. Shaun held out his hands, and the ten rings came flying. "Now are you ready?" He looked over at you. You nodded, both of you taking a few steps back. "On three." "One" he started. "Two." You took a deep breath. "Three!" You ran and jumped off the cliff, bringing your arms out in front of you into the diving position.

You hit the water first, your fingers bending back as you slowed down. You opened your eyes quickly and saw Shaun swimming back to the surface already. You looked around the murky blue waters, relishing in the coolness of the water. Cursing your necessity for oxygen, You flipped around and kicked your legs as hard as you could. When your head broke the surface, you couldn't see Shaun. You swiveled your head around and saw him behind you, with just his eyes above the surface. You laughed, and he started singing the Jaws theme song. He lunged for you, a sharp squeal leaving you. He laughed harder when you splashed him. "You're crazy!" You said. "You're the one who wanted to go cliff jumping." He replied.

"Fair enough." You splashed him again. "This water is freezing, can we go back up?" He asked. "Sure... but how?" You looked over at the cliffs, and then back at him. "You underestimate me Y/n." He swam right toward you, pulling you flush against him. You gasped as he propelled you both out of the water with the rings you forgot he had on. Your eyes clamped shut, and before you knew it, you felt your feet touching the smooth surface of the rocky cliff. You opened one eye, then the other, a breath of relief leaving your body. "You good?" He let go of you. You looked up at him, the shock hadn't left your mind yet.

"You better warn me next time you do that!" You said. He laughed loudly. "I thought you were gonna pass out there for a second." You smacked him on the arm, turning to walk back to the house. You walked up the steps to the balcony. You pulled at the sliding door, but it wouldn't budge. Shaun came up behind you. "It won't open." You said. "What? Let me try." You moved out of the way, but he couldn't open it either. "Tough guy can't open it huh?" You smirked. "No. It's really stuck. I can call Katy." He said, looking for his phone. "Maybe You left it inside." You brought your arms up to your chest, hands rubbing your shoulders, in a feeble attempt to warm up. Shaun looked around the terrace for his phone. "There. Found it." He picked it up to call Katy.

"Where are you?" He asked. "Me and Y/n went cliff diving and got locked outside." He held the phone away from his ear, you could hear Katy's obnoxious-yet hilarious- laughter coming from the other side. "Could you please come let us in?" He asked. "How long will it take?" He sighed, and hung up. "Katy will be here in an hour. It's her moms birthday today, so she can't leave till the party's over." He said, sitting down on one of the outdoor couches. "That's okay. Now we have an hour to kill outside. What do you want to do?" You asked, sitting down next to him.

"Are you cold?" He asked. You nodded. He pulled off his shirt and handed it to you. Your jaw dropped slightly, but you took it from him anyway, pulling it over your swimsuit. You stood up then, flipping your hair out in front of you, and combed through it to get the tangles out. "Wanna watch a movie 'till she gets here?" Shaun asked. You flipped your hair back, and nodded. "What movie?" "You pick. I have Disney+ now." He said, grabbing his phone. You sat down next to him again, and pulled the phone out of his hand. You knew exactly what you were going to pick.

You leaned back and saw that Shaun had laid down. You made eye contact for a moment, and you realized what was happening. He grabbed the phone, waiting for you to lay next to him. You settled in watching as the sun crept over the horizon, the first song of the movie beginning to play. You looked up at Shaun as he sang the words. You smiled brightly.

After awhile, the love song began. The part you wish you could say you were dreading. He glanced down at you and saw your eyes had closed. He shifted down and kissed your forehead softly. Your eyes opened immediately, and you turned your head up. "Shaun." You whispered. "Mm?" "Did you just kiss me?" You smiled. "I don't know what you're talking about." He said. You sat up. "I'm pretty sure you kissed me."

He turned his phone off and sat up with you. "And what if I did?" He smiled. "You know, on Ta Lo, if a man kisses you, you're married." You said. "What?" You started giggling like an idiot. "The look on your face! I can't believe you believed me! That was awesome!" You said. "It's not true right?" He said quickly. You nodded "I just wanted to know if you kissed me or not!" He grabbed you by your wrists and pulled you to him, your lips crashing together in a tension breaking kiss. Finally.

When you pulled back, Shaun had a smile on his face. "I've been wanting to do that for a long time." He said. "I've been wanting you to do that for a long time." You answered, pushing him back onto the couch. "How long has it been?" You asked. "Thirty seven minutes." He answered. "Good." You leaned down and kissed him again, this time feeling his hands travel up and down your body. In this house. Wearing his shirt. On his lap.

"Hah! You owe me fifty bucks Shang-Chi!" You fell off of the side of the couch then, a surprised yelp leaving your body. "Katy! We were just-" "Shaun- nope. There's no saving this one." You stopped him. "Did you make a bet?" You asked. "I bet him fifty bucks that you'd kiss him." "And I bet you fifty bucks I'd kiss her first, which I did." He smiled triumphantly. "Did you bet on the lips?" You asked Katy. She nodded. "Then he owes you fifty bucks. He kissed my forehead." You winked, walking inside. "Was that your shirt?" Katy asked. "Shut up." Shaun walked inside, grumbling to himself.
