After humiliating every single player at the table at least once in under an hour I decided I was bored -- honestly, they didn't have a chance to start, my luck has always been overwhelming. I will always remember the faces of astonishment from the two teams. I recall Jaune actually put up a fight against me -- his strategies were clever and his use of cards was ingenious -- but there was nothing he could do against my strategies and luck.
"This was amusing, however, I think it's time I get going," I said. Pyrrha cleared her throat and got up along with me, "Yes, well thank you for playing with us..." she said stretching her arm. I awkwardly looked at her arm before glancing at her, she had a smile plastered on her face as she stared at me with her emerald green eyes. I nodded and took her hand, giving her a handshake, "Who would've thought you were such a good strategist," she said with a smile.
"..." I didn't comment on her joke and instead just awkwardly nodded before leaving the room while totally not staring at my hand. I still had two hours before lunch was over so I went to my favorite place in the school -- the balcony on the auditorium. I took a deep breath and looked outside at the view I had. It was slightly windy that day and I remember the cold wind brushing against my skin -- not in an unpleasant way, but rather a refreshing as I basked on the rays of sunlight from above. I heard footsteps come from behind me but ignored whoever it might've been -- it took me a second to process that I didn't know who had walked up on me.
"Professor Ozpin, it's unusual for a headmaster to come all the way down, what brings you here?" I asked, turning around and looking at his eyes. Ozpin's eyes always creeped me out -- his dull brown eyes which seemed unaware of what happened around him while also gleaming as if it had all the knowledge in the world. His presence is as unsettling as having a spider crawl from behind your neck while you're aware it's there.
"It is curious to hear Theadore's son say that, seeing as he walks about the school to talk to any student willing to hear him," he said, putting both his hand on his staff -- which was filled with magic energy might I add, it definitely put me on edge knowing that someone other than me knew of magic's existence.
"Well my father is not your conventional headmaster -- he cares too much about his students," I told Ozpin, leaning back on the railings of the balcony.
"That does sound like Theodore," he said with a chuckle at the end while, walking towards me -- his staff tip-tapping as he got closer, finally making one large tapping sound as he stopped right next to me while looking at the view from the auditorium himself, "This is one of my favorite places in this school -- the view from here is beautiful," Ozpin took a deep breath and smiled as he turned towards me, "don't you agree?"
"Yes, the view is quite beautiful from here," I said, turning around to look at the view, "I find it strange no other students come here, though I guess mongrels can't appreciate a treasure even when having it," I said looking at the view in front of me, this time meaning to say these words -- probably out of jealousy when I look back on this moment I think that I was just jealous of Beacon students, they have such amazing views and yet they waste it, preferring to just sit inside all day doing nothing but talk to one another.
"Well, that is a possibility, though if I were to guess a reason," Ozpin said, putting both his hands on the rails as he looked at the horizon, "it would be because they get this view every day -- you can only get so much of one thing before it becomes a commodity after all," he said, making me shake my head.
