-----For Audrey (Tomboy3272)-----
Harry's POV
I strolled my way into the little coffee shop know as Grandma's cupcakes. I came here often, almost everyday to be precise. I ordered the same thing, sat at the same booth and stared at the same girl. She would come by my table and ask if I needed anything, which I would deny in my nervous state. She would then give me a warm smile and continue to sweep the floor.
Why was I so nervous to talk to her? She just looked as if she was too precious for ordinary Harry. That's all I was right? Just an ordinary Harry who lived in a small town in Cheshire, who might I add, had little to no experience with girls like her.
She looked up at me with deep brown eyes that instantly took my breathe away.
"Excuse me, but the café is closing in a few minutes. Is there anything I can get you before hand?" She asked politely in her posh English accent. I opened my mouth to speak but I couldn't form any words. Gosh, how I was dying to ask her out. What if I got rejected though? I could never show my face here again.
She looked at me curiously as her plump lips were slightly parted. Oh how I wanted to kiss her so badly. I opened my mouth once again and finally gained the courage to speak.
"I've got everything. If it isn't too much to ask, I was wondering if I could possibly get your number?" I gave her the best possible smile I could muster up. I just hope she doesn't say yes for pity.
"Oh." She said in surprise. Well, great going harry; rejected as called. "I can't, I'm sorry."
I nodded my head, understanding. "No no, I get it. You already have a boyfriend. My apologies." I stood up with the cold coffee in my hands and my journal in the other.
"No-actually I don't...its just that I don't..have a phone." She smiled a little.
"Oh," I chuckled in a slight relief. At least it wasn't rejection...yet. "Well then... can I m-maybe ask you out sometime?" I nervously stuttered, rubbing the back of my head. She chuckled at me took her apron off, putting aside the broom.
"How about you ask me out right now and tell me what day and what time? I'll be ready." She smirked. My eyes widened in shock at her sudden confidence. I opened my mouth to speak but she had left me speechless.
"Uh-yeah, that'd be great. U-um how about F-Friday? Do you prefer like a romantic dinner date or a fun day out? Your choice."
"Hm.." she pursed her lips looking at the ceiling. She looked back at me with a wide smile. She even had perfect white teeth. Of course she would.
"I think a fun day out would be perfect for a first date. Besides, I'm not really into that over the top romantic stuff.""Thank goodness cause' me neither" We fell into a comfortable laugh until it died down. I glanced at the time which read 6.31, meaning closing time.
"Eh, how are you getting home?" I asked once she had returned from gathering her items from the back.
"I walk. I don't own a car yet, but I'm saving up." She explained as she pushed the door open for us to exit. I felt bad that she was the one to hold the door.
"How about...if it's okay- I take you home?" I suggested hoping she would agree. She couldn't possibly walk out there at this time. It may have been a warm night but it was dark and dangerous.
"Thank you but I couldn't possible do that, it's too much to ask for." She declined tapping her foot to the ground.
"I'm a single man living in an apartment who eats leftover pizza for dinners, I think I have enough time to spare." She finally gave in and followed me into my car. It wasn't much but it worked.
"I like your car."
"Thanks, it's nothing special though-It's a bit...old." I started the engine and reversed from my parking spot.
"No, I like it. It fits you."
