"Sparrow."
Oh, how wonderful.
The one person I've been trying to avoid just so happened to find me.
Should've expected this, it is his ship after all. He probably has the whole crew keeping tabs on my every move.I turn around to face him, a glare instinctively forms on my face as we lock eyes.
"What is it now?" I ask dismissively.
He says nothing. He just motions with his hand for me to follow him as he turns and walks away, not even looking back to check if I do-follow.
I should've just walked away, but for some damn reason, I didn't even hesitate to follow him like a lost duckling.
A nearby crew mate chuckles loudly at my apparent eagerness to follow. I send them a glare as I try to cover up my embarrassment.
What am I doing?! This guy hates me and I hate him! I should not be happy to be around him!
I'm broken from my thoughts as I see him stop near the railing of the ship. From his coat, he brings out a map and spreads it out on the wooden surface of the side of the ship.
How was that staying in there?
With a hand still on the map to keep it from rolling up again, he uses his other hand to motion for me to get closer.
I scoot a tad closer.
I feel him send me a pointed glare as he does the hand motion again, asking for me to get closer.
I shuffle a tiny bit closer.
He sighs.
He reaches out and grabs my coat.
A rough tug in his direction has me nearly falling over as I'm forced to his side. I feel him place his hand on my hip firmly to keep me from backing away."Hey! What the hel-!"
"Shut up and look."Now that I was able to see the map - guess he did need me to get pretty close to see but the roughness was a but much - I could see what he was pointing at.
There marked on the map was a small, hardly noticeable, mark. If he wasn't pointing it out I would've thought it was just a bit of ink splatter or a stray crumb.
"This is where they are being held."
"But there's no land there? Are you trying to trick me or something?" I ask with suspicion laced in my tone.
"It's cursed land. Constant storms, the abundance of fog, and the ships that never return from there are more than enough to keep map makers away." He explains, his tone flat and emotionless.
"So just how are we supposed to get there then, oh all-knowing captain?" I saw with sarcasm.
He spares a look in my direction.
He looks back at the map, unfazed.
I huff in annoyance.
I was about to walk away, expecting to not get an answer out of him.
Right as I started to move I felt him grip me a little tighter.Forgot that hand was there.
He sighs and points at the map again.
"We're here."
He then glides his finger across the map, taking a direct route to a small port town marked on the map.
"First we're going to stop here first to stock up on supplies and get what we need for the journey."
