Sunny: When would you guys like a chapter that explains the past of the reader? Would you like us to slowly reveal it, have the reader reveal it to Jack in like a heart-to-heart moment, or do you just want a chapter where we go into detail about it? And would you guys want it to be early in the story or later?

The two captains, unsurprisingly, quickly started to bicker. Or, more accurately, the golden-eyed man messing with Jack and Jack childishly trying to one-up him and failing.

This left the two companions to bond over a bottle of whiskey while sharing embarrassing secrets about their captains.

THUMP

All chatter ceased.

The shorter of the foreign men walked to the door where the loud bang came from and knocked two times.
A second passes.
Three knocks come from the other side of the door.

The man turns to the pirates.
"He's ready for you now. Only two can go through. Insurance." His accent is a bit clearer than the other foreign man.

The pirates look between them.

Jack raises a finger and opens his mouth "Well-"

"Not you. Too loud." The man interrupted.

Gibbs at least tries to hide his laugh, the other two didn't even care to hide their chuckles.

"I'll go for ye captain," Gibbs reassures him.

They all look now at the two who haven't decided.

The shaded man looks at his boisterous companion and nods, she nods back.
"It's you and me then." She exclaims to Gibbs as she confirms her captain's decision.

The four go through the door and as it shuts silence falls over the room. An air of awkwardness surrounds the two captains.

As neither one thinks of a conversation topic or even a reason to talk to the other they wait for their companions to return.

Jack's POV
-

I catch a golden eye staring at me as it peers from under his hat. "And what's your problem hm? Sad I'm not going along with your..." I wave a finger around trying to buy time to search for an appropriate word. "Tricks?" The man chuckles to himself, never-ending his strangely intense eye contact.

"Stop it, you know that makes people uncomfortable right? Look somewhere else! Anywhere else!"

"Uncomfortable with a little eye contact birdy?" His voice is clearer than the last time I heard it but still rough.

Sounds better now that he doesn't have a noose around his neck.

I feel my chest tighten up from distaste.

"Birdy? Fine if that's how you want it... Uh... Goldie...?"

"That's the best you could think of?"
"I-"
He cuts me off.
He leans over the dilapidated table, getting uncomfortably close to my face, but before I can back away he roughly grabs my face.
"'Goldie' is all the great Captain Jack Sparrow can think of?" I pull myself from his grip and push him away with a grimace on my face.

"What else am I supposed to think of? The only thing remarkable about you is your eyes! I don't even know what your name is! What kind of freak has gold eyes? And why does no one even question it?!" I rant without even thinking.

"What?" He looks genuinely shocked for once. Not one of his exaggerated emotions to make me angry like he has been showing. Genuine, real, shock.

"You-..." He cuts himself off, only to get very quiet.
He locks eyes with me once again and I see what could almost be seen as fear. "you can see it?"

Beyond my better judgment, I start to feel worried for the man.

"Wha-"

BANG

A gunshot pierces the room.
We both shoot up and rush into the adjoining room.
He twists the doorknob but it does not budge.
Angling his body so his shoulder and upper arm are aimed at the door he slams into it.

Again.
Again.
Again.

Until finally.

CRASH

The door comes off its hinges revealing an empty room with a dusty desk and three chairs sit in the middle. There is a fresh hole in the flimsy desk from a gunshot. On the desk, there is a short note.

"We found you.

You know where to look,
Alamar."

I look into the golden eyes of the man with me, and I see fear.
