Pacing right to left outside the operation theatre, Rrahul felt the back of his throat burning. He took a large gulp of water from the crumbled bottle which was a result of his tight grip, basically not to quench his unformed thirst, but to avoid the burning sensation.
The burning sensation accompanied by heavy heart was making things worse for him.
Interlocking his fingers together, Rrahul constantly pleaded the Almighty to heal his Helly and give her back to him. He already lost the most important soul of his life, now he can't loose Helly.
"Doctor!! How is Helly?" Asked Rrahul as the doctor exited the operation theatre after what felt like hours of wait.
"She is fine...." Said the Doctor and Rrahul said a short thank you to the his Supreme Power, "......The wound on the forehead is just a scratch, but the wound on the crown is deep...." The relaxed looking forehead soon wrinkled again.
".... The thing did tamper the skull..." The Doctor continued, ".....The X-Ray report shows a dent on the skull but good thing is, it's not deep enough to effect the brain. Don't let her take stress about anything for the moment, or in near future, until she is recovers Okay?" The Doctor advised and Rrahul nodded his head.
"Thank you Doctor" said Rrahul shortly.
"Mention not" The Doctor patted Rrahul's shoulder and was about to walk away when Rrahul stopped him, "Um.. Doctor?"
"Yes?"
"Can I see her?" Asked Rrahul and Doctor raised an eyebrow, "just for once" he added pleadingly.
"No" he replied, "We'll keep her under observation for 24 hours. If there is no negative change, we'll shift her to general ward and then you could meet her. If there is any... the dent has done it's work" saying the Doctor walked away leave the half collapsed man to himself.
The doctor's later words started ringing in Rrahul's head. He again started begging his Almighty to keep his Helly safe and sound.
With weak steps he reached the waiting seats and sat down.
24 hours. The most heavy 24 hours in a person's life. He has faced this before and goodness knows why he has been thrown into this condition again.
It is this moment that sucks out all the courage out of him.
Closing his eyes, he waited hopefully for the bright morning to get cherished with her smiling face.It was 9:00 A.M in the morning, since the Doctor arrived. Doing the needful, he exited out of the ICU only to collide with Rrahul, "oh I am so sorry Doctor" he apologized to which the Doctor nodded his head, "No problem"
"Doctor, How is Helly?" He asked hopefully.
"Absolutely fine" the doctor replied and the gloomy face of the worried-sick beamed with happiness.
"Thank you so much Doctor. Thank you" he said and shook his hand with him.
"But regular check up is necessary. These wound on crown or any part of skull, do not effect recently, but may effect in later stages of life, maybe after 35 or 40 years, or maybe in recent 10 years. So regular check up is necessary" the Doctor advised and Rrahul nodded his head like an obedient kid but was constantly tapping his foot.
