Dallas, Kai, and Aru stood in the kitchen. Dallas was making tea for Aru and them-self, and Kai was warming up his ribs from the night before, seeing as he had soon become full and couldn't finish.

"Aru, you need to be careful in your world," Dallas said, pouring her and Aru a cup of tea.

"I can take care of myself," Aru defended, taking her cup and taking a sip. She went around the island and poured honey into her tea.

"That's debatable. Everyone in your group has either been kidnapped or hurt all because they were trying to protect you."

"Geez, Dallas. I don't need a babysitter!" Aru rebutted, slamming the honey bottle onto the table.

Kai plated his food and turned around to face the wrath of Aru and Dallas.

"And I don't need to protect you all the gosh darn time!" Dallas yelled back.

"I can protect myself and my people quite fine, thank you for your concern!"

"Just like you protected Aiden when he was on the ground because he was shot? Oh, wait. That was me who helped him."

Kai nibbled on the meat that laid on the bone, watching the two going back and forth. Normally, he would butt in and tell Dallas to cut it out, but he was too hungry, so he just proceeded to eat.

Aru's face fell. It was expressionless except for the tears welling up in her eyes. Dallas had just realized what they had said.

"Aru," Dallas started.

"I get it, Dallas! I failed to try to save Aiden! I'm sorry I made it, so you had to go out of your way to save a stranger!"

"Aru, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it."

"I don't want to hear it," Aru said, setting down her tea and walking out.

Kai walked out to go to the dining room and finish his food.

"Great job, Dallas. You really screwed up this time."

Alva walked in her hair a mess from just waking up from her nap. Strands of her blonde hair were in her face, which she quickly put back into its place. She noticed Dallas scolding herself. "Yo, you okay, dude?"

It was a rare occasion that she called people 'dude' or say 'yo', but she was tired and didn't care.

"I messed up. I ruined it with Aru, again," Dallas sighed, leaning back on the counter. They ran their hand through their light purple hair.

"Do you think you can make it up to her?"

"Not a chance. At least not today. I hit below the belt. It was out of pocket. She didn't deserve it."

"What did you say?" Alva asked, resting her forearms on the marble island counter.

"Not important."

Aspyn walked in. Her hair was much like Alva's. Her curls were splayed all over, and they were flowing down her back. Each curl was tight and bounced around with every step.

"Aru woke up on the wrong side of the bed," she scoffed. "I tried to say good morning, but she just pushed past me."

"That would be my fault," Dallas said just as Alva said, "Dallas' fault."

Aspyn raised a brow. "What did you do this time?"

"She basically told Aru it was all her fault Aiden got shot," Kai yelled through the door.

Aspyn pushed open the swinging door to the dining room. "Eavesdropper."

"Not when you blab so loudly I can hear you in here," Kai scoffed.
