Ross's pov

The staircase creaked loudly under my feet as I walked down it. But that was literally the last thought in my mind right now, my first priority was Roy, of course. I wonder what was going on where he was right now. I just wanted to see him. Make sure he's ok. I grabbed the umbrella by it's shiny handle and walked out the door, closing it gently behind me. Boy, oh boy, was the woman right. It WAS raining down hard, almost like the sky itself was falling down. Hesitantly, I opened the white umbrella and held it over my head. And, man, that helped A LOT. If I hadn't had it, I would've looked the equivalent to being thrown into a pool with your clothes on. Slowly, but surely, I began walking through the classic neighbourhood I had walked through ga-zillions of times before. The umbrella was quite big, you could probably fit three people under it, and it shielded me from the rain pretty well. Surprisingly, I wasn't wet at all. I closed my eyes, listening to the rain. The noises it made when it fell onto the umbrella and shattered into a million pieces varied from heavy plops and lighter ones. Kind of like a... song? I guess. My first stop was Roy's house, I had only been their once, and for a short amount of time, but I remembered the location since it was very close to mine.

After walking for a while, I stopped in front of a rag, laying on the gravel ground. As I bent down, it didn't look like a rag any more.. but more of a hat? It took me a moment to realise but.. HEY. This is Roy's hat. I picked it up with one hand. God, it was soaking wet. You would think it was an old kitchen towel that hadn't been washed for months and had just been chucked in a lake. I put it in my pocket, as it was so wet you could fold it any way you wanted it. I was extra-worried now.. What happened to Roy? Surely, in this rain, he would notice that his cap fell off of him, right? Crap.. I started speed-walking now, having a little more urge to find Roy and check up on him.

Maybe after six-five more minutes of walking, I finally saw him. Laying on the grass, not moving. I dashed to his side and (THANKFULLY) he was breathing. Good job, Ross, he's not dead. I think he's sleeping, and as much as I didn't want to disturb him, I nudged him a little bit.. "Roy?" I said, a little quieter than you would speak normally. He murmured a little, before sitting up, allowing his eyes to adjust to the setting he was in. I noticed his face was red... was he... crying? I had never seen Roy cry. Ever. But now wasn't the time to ask. "Roy, are you ok? You're all wet.." Unintentionally, I think sounded like a worried mother, also noticing that 'are you ok?' was a stupid question to ask, as we all knew the answer to that. He slowly looked at me, before jumping, and almost falling backwards, but I managed to grab his hand before he did. We were just looking at each other, me still holding his hand. Suddenly, I could tell that realisation came back to him and he quickly covered his face. "What?" He spat out. His voice was quiet and broken. I could tell he had a sore throat. "Well, one, your soaking, too.. I.. I'm just worried and puzzled right now.. I was kinda worried about you." I looked back at the ground. "Meh.. I'm fine.                                                    ow." He held his throat, signalling he was sick. "Do you wanna.. like, go home. Your parents are probably reeeeally worried about you. Plus, I am too." I grabbed his hand and lifted him up, he was still not looking at me. He quickly took his hand away, his face getting even more redder that it was before. "Thanks.. Uhh. I don't really want to go home. My family couldn't care less." Roy seemed sad, as if he didn't want to go too deep into this topic. "Wanna come to mine?" I paused. "And first take your clothes?" I tried to smile at him.. and I think he noticed because he smiled back. A little bit. A very tiny smile, but it was worth it. It was nice seeing him smile without something sinister in mind.. It WAS also the first time I saw him smile without something sinister in mind. "Whatever." He finally looked up at me, signalling a 'yes'. He seemed like it took a lot of courage to do that. Soon, he stopped smiling. And we were just staring at each other. "Have you been.. crying?" I didn't mean it in a mean way, Just.. I just wanted to help, I guess. He covered his face again. "Does it look like it? I wasn't crying.. I just. Um. I'm just tired.." Pushing aside that terrible excuse I put the umbrella over him and we began walking to his house. Alone. In the rain. Together. Under an umbrella. Just like a-
