The smell of metallic blood filled your nose, you scrunched it, trying your best to get rid of the stomach twisting scent. Peirce had dragged you down a hall and into a cell. Cold, black bars surrounded you like an endless maze, it wasn't scary, it was more of a confusing moment. You've never been taken by Hydra before, so you didn't know what to expect. Maybe it was interrogation? Maybe it was a kidnapping that dragged you away from home forever? Maybe it was a constant reminder that what you did was for the best?
You didn't know. But that didn't stop you from being scared either. Confused and Scared. A dangerous combination if not used carefully.
"Let's see how hard I can break you, yeah?" Peirce chuckled, walking away from your new cell.
You shifted in your spot, sitting criss cross with your cuffed hands in your lap. You let out a deep breath, reminding yourself that this was for your parents, for your home. Honestly, you didn't know why you sacrificed yourself either. You've only been there for a few months, grant it, it was enough to get close to them, but that's not how you worked. With the hundreds of homes you've been through, it's second nature to not get close to anyone. Maybe it was the look on James' face when he was near death. Maybe it was how protective you were when Peirce threatened to kill them. Maybe it was when Steve immediately tried to get you out the situation. Or maybe it was because you knew that Peirce was after you with the way he hesitated to take down your father's.
You knew Peirce wanted to see you crumble like everyone else he's encountered, you knew he knew that you were the first actual kid in the Avengers and that taking you down would've been easy. He was using you for bait, he had no real plans with you. Yet.
Waking up to a faint beeping, James forced his eyes open. He was met with a bright light, but he didn't dare close his eyes. Sitting up, he looked around, he was in a hospital. He hated hospitals, they always made him feel uncomfortable. But where were you? James grew worried as he yanked the IV out his arm and stood up. White hot pain shot through his side, he almost fell back to the floor but he managed to keep his balance and stumble out his room. He found a nurse not to far from his door, she looked at him with wide eyes. He didn't care though, his main priority was you. He walked up to her, standing infront of her with a glare.
"Where's my daughter?" James growled, intimidating the poor woman.
"Sir, we need to get you back to bed." She answered, swallowing nervously.
"Not without my daughter." James answered, holding his side in pain, "Where is she? She was with me! I know she was!"
"Sir, no one was with yo-"
"Stop lying! Tell me where she is! Where's my family?!" James cut her off, irritated and scared.
Another doctor came from behind him and put a hand on his shoulder. James quickly reacted and grabbed the guys neck, squeezing until his face turned a bright shade of red. The fearful look from the Nurse, other patients, and Doctors didn't faze James in the slightest. He was hell bent on finding you.
"Where's my daughter?!" James asked again, louder this time.
"Sir, please!" The nurse, trembled before him, "We don't know of any daughter!"
"Bullshit!" James shouted, "If you won't tell me, fine. I'll just squeeze your neck until your eyes pop."
"Sir-"
"Buck."
James turned his head, his eyes were cold. He was turning into someone no one's seen in a long time. Coming face to face with Steve, James' softened his gaze and hesitantly dropped the doctor.
