Rapunzel's Life (Rewritten)

Chapter 11

5 weeks later, Lily, Rapunzel, and Will are in the ultrasound room. Lily and Rapunzel are laying back on the tables, their small bumps showing. Neither one of them can believe that they have gotten this far in their pregnancies.

Patricia is doing Lily's ultrasound and Victoria is doing Rapunzel's ultrasound.

Patricia. The babies are doing just fine. They are continuing to grow healthy and strong. And their heartbeats as strong as ever.

Victoria. The same with the quadruplets. They are growing very strong and healthy and their heartbeats are all very strong.

Rapunzel. What about the genders?

Patricia pans over each twin. Baby A is a girl. And baby B is also a girl.

Rapunzel. I have two sisters. What about my babies? What are they?

Victoria pans over each of the four babies. Baby A is a girl, Baby B is a boy, Baby C is another boy, and Baby D is another girl. So two boys and two girls.

Rapunzel. I have two daughters and two sons.

Victoria. That's right. Your daughters and sons and sisters get to grow up together. And one day when they're old enough, you get to tell them about your sisters being aunts to your sons and daughters.

Lily. Yeah. And they are going to be very close to each other. And they will be going to school together.

Will. And they will all be protective of each other and caring and loving.

Rapunzel. I guess we are going to be a big and happy family.

Lily. Yes we are.

Patricia. The three of you are so sweet. And we are always surprised at the kindness and generosity and understanding of your daughter having quadruplets at 3 years old. We know she didn't plan for this to happen, but most parents would disown their daughter if she became pregnant, no matter her age. So we always love seeing the three of you at each appointment. And we love answering your questions.

Will. Well we love coming here and seeing the babies. Rapunzel is always talking to her babies and so is Lily. This morning, Rapunzel came running into our room with a big smile and showing off her bump.

Lily. It was so cute. She compared our bumps and seen that hers a little bit bigger. We explained that it is because she is carrying four babies instead two.

Victoria. That is so cute. The three of you are free to go. She hands them the pictures and paper towels. Rapunzel and Lily cleans themselves off, take the pictures and the three of them make their appointment for January 22, 2021 for the 25 week check up and then go to their house. They spend the rest of the day relaxing and watching TV. Of course, they do some exercise to stay healthy, but they don't go out anywhere. By night fall, the family has eaten lunch, played on the playset, had dinner, put away the dishes, got ready for bed, and fell asleep under the covers.

Two weeks later, when Rapunzel and Lily are 22 weeks pregnant, Lily comes down with the flu. John calls the doctor and Victoria assures him that the twins will not be affected by the flu. She tells him that if the flu becomes worse, to come to the hospital to check on the babies.

John thanks her, and ends the phone call. He helps Lily and Rapunzel with anything that they needed. He makes sure the Rapunzel does not come near Lily to prevent the flu from spreading. He wears a mask and gloves and does not give Lily any physical affection. Thankfully by the time Lily and Rapunzel are 24 weeks pregnant, Lily is completely recovered and the twins are healthy as well as Rapunzel and her children. One morning, Lily is making breakfast and setting the table. She is putting the food on the table when she feels her babies kick. She smiles and rubs her abdomen. Hello darlings. Are you hungry? Don't worry, breakfast is ready. Lily and Rapunzel both had a pleasant surprise when they felt their babies kicking for the first time back when they were 22 weeks.

Rapunzel comes in with a smile and a hand on her abdomen. She sits down at the table and starts eating her breakfast. Lily and Will join her and they al have a wonderful family breakfast before going to the beach. The family arrives at the beach 20 minutes later and change into their swimsuits. They apply sunscreen, and go into the water. They stay in the shallow part of the ocean and swim and play around.

When they finish playing in the water, they go back to their spot and bask in the sunlight. They also build sandcastles and bury each other in the sand and play pretend. Unfortunately, a woman comes over and stands in front of them.

Lauren. I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but notice that her daughter has a swollen abdomen. Is she alright? And my name is Lauren.

Will. Yes she is. She is pregnant with quadruplets. Two boys and two girls. 

Lauren. Pregnant? That can't be possible. She is very young. She cannot be pregnant because she is not in her child-bearing years.

Lily. She is in fact pregnant because she was raped. The man that raped her is my ex and he raped me as well. We are both 24 weeks pregnant. She chose on her own that she would keep the children and raise them by herself.

Lauren. Well, she is a disgrace. You should have made her get an abortion. How is she supposed to raise those children when she is just a child herself? And how is she supposed to give birth or feed her children? She would need to have breasts and she surely would need to have a C-section, because she is not developed enough to push them out.

Rapunzel. For your information, the doctor said that I am developing breasts and that I will be developed enough to give birth naturally. I will raise my children very well and if I need help, I will have my parents to help me.

Lauren. Well, I guess I was wrong. I was bitter and ignorant because I had been fired from my job, and also I just had never seen someone being pregnant at such a young age. I am very sorry, and you and your mother are doing very well. How many is your mother carrying?

Rapunzel. It is okay. You are forgiven. She is carrying twins. They are both girls. I hope you are able to find a new job.

Lauren. Thank you, and that is wonderful. I will try my best to get a new job. I have to leave now, to have some lunch. Again, I am very sorry for what happened.

Lily. It's no problem. Everyone has their good and bad days, and they handle them differently. I just ask that you do not harass our daughter again if we ever meet again.

Lauren. I promise I won't do that ever again. 

Will. Thank you.

With that, Lauren leaves and the family returns to their day of fun in the sun. By the afternoon, the family washes off, dries off, changes into the dry clothes, and go to a restaurant to have some lunch. They have a Greek salad with chicken strips and apples slices for the sides. When they finish, they walk around the boardwalk and come to a baby shop. They go inside and look around at the clothes and toys and highchairs and so much more. The only things that they do not have are highchairs, and car seats. They also do not have a new vehicle that can hold all of the children.

After an hour of looking around, they find 6 highchairs, and 6 car seats that can be changed to fit the babies as they grow. The family places their purchases in the car and then continue their day out on the boardwalk.

When night time comes around, the family is at home watching TV. They have already had dinner and dessert, changed into their night clothes, and gotten ready for bed. They are just watching Lion King until it is time for them to go to sleep.

After watching Lion King, Will, Lily, and Rapunzel get into their respective beds and fall asleep.
