Rapunzel's Life (Rewritten)

Chapter 1

It was a clear and bright summer day in July. The queen was 9 months pregnant with a girl. The queen is 20 years old and lives alone. Her boyfriend of 2 years left her when he heard of the pregnancy. He claimed that he wasn't ready to be a father.

Katelyn walks around the castle, trying to get her water to break and start her labor. After several hours at noon, Kate's water breaks, and the contractions start. She calls for her midwife. Kate goes through several waves of excruciating pain as the contractions consume her body.

Half an hour after first going into labor, Kate feels an overwhelming urge to push. The midwife says that she is fully dilated and that she can start pushing when she is ready.

Kate feels a contraction and pushes with all of her might, giving out a cry of pain as she pushes her child out of her body. This process goes on for several hours until the child is finally born at 11 pm. The baby gives a cry of health.

Elizabeth. Congratulations your majesty, it's a girl. A healthy and beautiful baby girl. She places the newborn onto Kate's chest as the cord is clamped and cut. Eliza then takes the child to get the measurements and clean her off. The baby girl weighs 6 pounds and 5 ounces and measures 21 inches long. She is cleaned off and wrapped in a blanket with a pink hat on her head.

Kate is handed back the little girl and she watches as her daughter looks up at her with curious eyes. She has golden blonde hair and bright green eyes. Kate smiles because she had just given birth to the most beautiful little girl. However, she knew that the girl would soon belong to someone else.

Eliza. So have you thought of a name for the child your majesty?

Kate looks up at Eliza and smiles. I have. Rapunzel.

Eliza smiles and writes the date and time of birth. That is a wonderful name. She hands the certificate to Kate and gets the ink ready to make the imprints of Rapunzel's tiny feet.

Kate signs the certificate stating that she is the legal birth mother of the baby that is in her arms. Eliza smiles as she is handed the certificate and makes the baby feet imprints on the sides.

She excuses herself to retrieve the adoption papers and certificate. The papers are signed by Kate and the adoptive mother and father, and then the parents adopting Rapunzel sign the adoption certificate.

Eliza allows Kate to have an hour with her child until she is given to her new parents. She bonds with her daughter and breastfeeds her so that Rapunzel has the proper nutrition before she is handed off. 55 minutes later, Kate makes a five-minute video to her daughter to explain that the adoption was done out of love and the happiness and safety of Rapunzel. She wanted her daughter to know that her birth mother always loved her and never would have given her up if she had been in a loving relationship and had been financially stable.

After five minutes, it's time for Rapunzel to be given to her new mother and father.

The expectant mother and father meet the midwife in the grand entryway of the castle and get to see their daughter for the first time.

Lillian. She's so precious. I can't believe we are going to be parents.

William. I agree. This is like a dream come true. She is going to be very loved and well cared for and protected.

Lily. Definitely.

The happy couple kisses their daughter on the cheek and then kisses each other sweetly on the lips.

Before, Lily and Will leave, they thank Kate for making their dream come true.

Kate smiles. You don't need to thank me. I just wanted to make sure she had great parents and a loving and caring and protective home. I couldn't possibly live with myself knowing that she would be missing out on important bonding moments if I kept her and worked so much.

Will. Well, we will take great care of Rapunzel and protect her and we already love her very much. And we are very much financially stable.

Kate. That's all I ask. And I know that both of you will be amazing parents.

After a few minutes of talking and taking turns holding the child, Lily and Will make their way home, after safely securing their daughter in the carrier.

Lily. I'm so glad that our daughter is finally here. And she seems to be a really easy baby.

Will. I agree. I can't wait to see her grow up into a nice, respectful, and well-mannered young woman.

Lily. Neither can I.

Lily and Will arrive home, and they go into the nursery. Lily feeds Rapunzel and burps her. She then changes her into a pink night onesie and rocks her to sleep. Once Rapunzel is asleep, Lily puts their daughter in the crib.

Lily. Goodnight sweet girl. We love you very much.

Will. And you will have so much joy and happiness and health and protection from both of us. You are going to grow up into a beautiful lady.
