Rapunzel's Life (Rewritten)

Chapter 13

Two weeks later, the family is in the examination room after being called back. The doctor and nurse enter the room and smile.

Victoria. Good morning. How is everyone doing today?

Will. We are doing very well.

Patricia. That's great! Are you ready for the check up?

Rapunzel and Lily get up onto the tables and lay back and pull their shirts up to their breasts and pulls their pants down to below their bumps.

Patricia gets everything ready and is about to put the gel on Rapunzel's abdomen, but an announcement plays through the speakerphone about a patient in critical condition and needs immediate medical attention. Patricia makes her way to help, but Victoria tells her that she will take care of it. She kisses Victoria sweetly and hugs her.

Patricia. Please be safe. I love you.

Victoria. I love you too, and you know I will. I don't know how long this is going to take, so I'll see you later.

Patricia. Okay. Now go help the critical patient.

They share another sweet kiss and Victoria leaves the room to help the patient in need. Patricia turns back around and continues what she was doing.

Rapunzel. Are you and Doctor Victoria together?

Patricia puts the gel on Rapunzel's abdomen and then grabs the wand and places it against the gel. Yes we are. We discovered that we had crushes on each other since the first day we met, and we confessed our love for each other last night. And I confessed to her that I had to have my uterus removed because of a tumor that was forming on the inside of my left fallopian tube. Fortunately, she understands that I can no longer become pregnant, but she would be more than willing to become pregnant when we decide to get married and have children.

Lily. I'm glad that the two of you are together and happy, and that she would become pregnant for you to bring your children into the world one day.

Rapunzel. So am I. I cannot wait to meet my children. But I am going to miss the feeling of them kicking and hearing their heartbeats and seeing them moving on screen and having a bump and other things about pregnancy.

Lily. So am I, but in 1 week, Rapunzel will have her children and in 6 weeks I will have my children in my arms, and all the pain from the labor and delivery will all be worth it.

Rapunzel. Yeah, it will.

Patricia. So here are the quadruplets. They are all doing very well, and their heartbeats are very strong. She prints the pictures and hands them to Rapunzel along with a paper towel.

Rapunzel wipes her abdomen and pulls her pants up and her shirt down, and then gets off the table and sits down beside Will.

Patricia does the same thing with Lily and determines that the twins are doing well and that both heartbeats are very strong. Lily cleans her abdomen, receives her pictures, pull her shirt down and her pants up and gets off the table.

Patricia. So, you are free to go. This is Rapunzel's last appointment, and your last appointment is at 35 weeks.

The family makes their last appointment for April 2, 2022, and then make their way to their minivan. They drive to the park and let Rapunzel run around and play on the playground equipment. Rapunzel notices her best friend Eliza and runs towards her and envelopes her in a tight hug, keeping her baby bump in mind. Kate and John do the same with Lily and Will.

The four parents sit down at a bench and talk while their children run around and play together.

Kate. So have you three been doing?

Will. We've been doing great. We just finished our 30 week appointment for Lily and Rapunzel. The babies are all doing very well. We have our last appointment at week 35, and Rapunzel's last appointment was today, and the quads will be born next week and twins will be born in 6 weeks.

John. That's wonderful. So Lily, how do you and Rapunzel feel to be able to give birth soon?

Lily. It's crazy, but a very wonderful crazy. I never knew that I could ever get pregnant, and I wish that Rapunzel didn't get pregnant so early in life, but at the same time, I love that I'm going to have my twin daughters and that Rapunzel is going to have her daughters and sons. I know that she is going to be very happy to have them in her arms and that she is always going to love them, and protect them, and care for them, and raise them to be amazing men and women that know right from wrong.

Kate. That's wonderful. I know Rapunzel's children are going to get along great with their aunts.

Rapunzel comes over with Eliza and they both smile and hug before sitting down.

Rapunzel. What were you talking about?

Lily. That your children and sisters would get along well with each other.

Rapunzel. I think they will get along very well. They are all going to be very loved and care for and protected and respected.

Will. Mommy and I can't wait to meet your sisters and daughters and sons.

Rapunzel. I can't wait to meet them either. I cannot believe that I got pregnant at this age, but I love it. And I love these children very much.

Eliza. Can I feel the babies? Am I allowed to touch the baby bumps?

Lily. Of course. They should be awake now.

Rapunzel. And mine too.

Eliza comes over to them and gently places her hands on each of the baby bumps. She smiles and her eyes light when she feels them kicking. Wow! They are really active! Does it hurt when they kick?

Lily. Not a lot. Sometimes they kick me in the ribs and Rapunzel has told me the same, but they don't mean to hurt us, and they don't kick very hard.

Rapunzel. Yeah, and if you put your other hand on my bump, I can show you the difference between the girls kicking and the boys kicking.

Eliza moves so that both of her hands are on Rapunzel's bump, and places them where Rapunzel tells her.

Rapunzel. Can you feel the difference?

Eliza. Yeah. The boys are a little stronger than the girls. She turns her attention to Lily. Is that the same with your twins?

Lily. Both girls kick at the same strength.

Will. It's getting late. I think we should be leaving so we can have  some lunch. And then we can all go on the Ferris Wheel. I remember that a certain group of women and girls likes the Ferris Wheel.

John. Yeah, I remember hearing that as well. And I have 6 tickets.

The six of them leave the park, and drive to a restaurant. They have a big lunch, consisting of chicken strips, shrimp, spaghetti and meatballs, tacos, calzones, and hamburgers with a side of salad for everyone.

When they finish, the two families go to the fair and ride on the Ferris Wheel. They go around several times and then get off. They end the day with dinner, and then walking around the park. They circle around 5 times and then head home to their respective homes.

Will, Lily, and Rapunzel arrive home, and get ready for bed, snuggle under the covers, and fall asleep.
