You said, "Go."
"Look what I found," Jake grinned at his friend. "For you," he extended a tiny seashell with curly edges, a seashell a beautiful shade of ever-so-soft blue. A thin crack threaded halfway across the shell from one end, but other than that, it was in perfect condition.
Yeonhee carefully took the shell from the boy's hands. "Blue? I've never seen a blue one before."
"Me either! They're usually pink, or purple, right?"
"Yeah, they are. Yellow sometimes, but blue... it's much more rare," the girl traced the curves of the shell gently, turning it over in her hand in awe. "Thank you, Jakey."
"Are you okay?" Jake asked carefully, eyeing her salt-tracked cheeks. He knew they weren't from the spray of the crashing waves.
"Mhmm. I'm okay. I'm just... kinda tired. But I'm okay."
"Okay."
The two sat in silence and just watched the waves strike the shore then pull back only to pitch forth another wave at the shore, over and over. Yeonhee lifted her head. "Hey Jake?"
"It's getting dark."
"Can we stay longer? Until the fireworks?"
"Ok. Sure. Of course. Let's stay for the fireworks."
