The Scoops Troop stared at the notebook. There had to be something wrong with the translation. The Russians couldn't be trying to do it again, could they? They all read it again, just to make sure what they were seeing was what the Russians were doing.
Way down.
Flipped over.
White flakes.
Monsters.
Open the gate."The gate?" Alex spoke up. "What's the gate?"
"A long story." Dustin quickly replied.
"What's 'white flakes' supposed to mean?" Asked Dom.
"The Upside Down." Steve answered.
"And the Upside Down is..." Dom trailed off, waiting for a response.
"Another long story." Said Dustin.
"Well, based on the way that you two are reacting," Mia pointed to both Steve and Dustin, who looked like they had just seen a ghost. "I'm assuming this is not a good thing?"
"Good job, Mia!" Dustin sarcastically clapped his hands. "You figured it out!"
Mia rolled her eyes.
"Why would they try and do it again?" Robin wondered.
"Probably because they couldn't do it last time." Said Erica.
"What were they trying to do last time?" Asked Alex.
"Open the gate." Said Steve.
"What is the gate?"
"A long story!"
"Why is it a long story?"
"Because it is!"
"Are you hiding something?"
"No!"
"Then what is the long story?"
"Are you going to argue with someone every hour or something?" Erica interjected the argument. She gave a Alex a look. "Shut the hell up!"
"Wait, does anyone have a walkie talkie?" Dustin asked, glaring at everyone.
"Uhm..." Steve squinted his eyes shut and snapped his fingers, trying to recall the last time he had seen a walkie talkie. "Yeah, backroom, bottom shelf." He said, pointing to the direction of the backroom door.
Dustin dashed into the backroom, searching everywhere for the walkie, as if Steve didn't just say exactly where it was. After a good 2 minutes of searching, Dustin finally located the walkie talkie.
He ran back out to the counter and switched the channels until he found the right one.
"What are you doing?" Mia asked.
"Getting help." Replied Dustin.
"From who?"
"Friends."
"What? Are we not good enough for you?"
"Oh, shut up!"
He pushed the button and spoke into the walkie. "Does anybody copy? This is the Scoops Troop. The Russians are trying to open the gate. I repeat, the Russians are trying to open the gate. Do you copy?" He let go of the button and waited for a response.
Nothing.
He tried again, "Again, the Russians are trying to open the gate. I repeat, the Russians are trying to open the gate. Does anyone copy?"
Still nothing.
He tried one more time.
"God Damnit! The Russians are-"
"Dude!" Steve took the walkie talkie from Dustin. "Calm down." He said. "Maybe we should just-"
He was cut off by a static filled voice emerging from the walkie.
"Hello?"
