"I'm going to assume that that is another long story?" Mia raised her eyebrows.
Dustin looked at her, but didn't reply. He grabbed the notebook and went to run out the door. But before he could, Steve stopped him. He grabbed his curly headed friend by the shoulders and turned him around, so he was looking at him in the eyes.
"What are you doing?" Steve asked.
"What are you doing?" Replied Dustin, shrugging his shoulders, basically telling Steve to let him go.
Steve did.
"I'm making you stop." Said Steve.
"Why?" Dustin scowled.
"Shouldn't we like, make up a plan first, before running back there?"
Dustin looked at the floor and thought for a moment. "Yeah, you have a point." He mumbled, shuffling his feet back to the desk.
"So, how are we gonna get in?" Lucas asked.
"What ever you do, don't ask him." Alex pointed to Dom who shot her a look.
"Well, your idea wasn't the brightest, either." He snapped.
"At least it was rational!"
"Can we stop chit-chatting and start planning already?" Max yelled.
"Sorry!" Alex replied. "It's not my fault he has an IQ of three!"
"And it's not my fault that you're and asshole!"
"Well, it's not my fault that you-"
"Would you please shut up!" Nancy yelled, interrupting the two.
"Sorry." Both Alex and Dom apologized in unison.
"It's not okay." Mike scowled. "Shut up."
Dom quickly raised his eyebrows at Mike's comment, slightly offended.
"Anyway," Erica sighed, ignoring everything that just happened. "Do any of you have at least one idea?"
"I think I have one." Steve spoke up.
The whole room gave him a look of 'oh boy, here we go'.
"It's actually a good one," He added on, seeing everyone's facial expressions. "I swear."
"Then, shoot." Said Nancy.
"Can anyone get a hold of the Byers?" Asked Steve, grabbing the walkie talkie.
"Why?" Robin raised an eyebrow.
"I said, can anyone get a hold of the Byers?" He repeated himself.
"I think so." Lucas replied, putting his hand out for the walkie talkie. Steve placed the small radio in Lucas's hands and let him do the rest of the work. After turning the dials for a few seconds, he pressed the button and began speaking into it.
"Byers, do you copy? Over." He let go of the button and waited for a response.
Nothing.
"Byers, this is Lucas. I'm with the rest of the party. Do you copy? Over."
Still nothing.
Dustin impatiently reached for the talkie, sick of waiting.
"Hey, no!" Steve smacked his friend's hand away.
"What was that for?" Dustin complained.
"I said no."
"Why?"
"Because you're just going to start screaming into it."
"I am not!"
"You did last time!"
"I wasn't screaming! I was just raising my voice!"
"Which is basically screaming."
"No!"
"Yes!"
"How?"
"Because it's loud!"
"Just because it's loud doesn't mean it's screaming!"
"Dude, you-"
"Oh great, now you two." Nancy growled.
"What?" Steve and Dustin asked simultaneously.
Steve opened his mouth to argue, but was immediately stopped by Max.
"Don't even." She said, her voice getting threateningly low.
The walkie talkie abruptly started going off without a warning, causing everyone to flinch. The static was loud, louder than usual. And there was a voice, a familiar one. After a few moments, the voice on the other end was as clear as day:
"This is Will, I copy."
