It hurt.
The punches that rained down on them, it hurt.
What hurt Rinn even more was that she couldn't do anything. Nothing at all to stop the older, stronger boys from beating her and her brother up because they were 'monsters'.
This had, of course, happened before. The two six-year-olds had had this experience more than once or twice. It never went this far, though.
They were punched, kicked, spit on, and all they could do was cower on the ground. Rinn hated it. Not being able to do anything. The best she could do was try to shield Naruto as much as she could, but that was rather hard when the person she was attempting to shield was also trying t o do the same thing for her.
Eventually the boys grew tired, and left the two children trembling on the ground.
Rinn's eyes met the cerulean blue of her brother's, whose eyes filled with tears. She scrunched her face too, tears escaping from her heterochromic* eyes. Her eyes trailed down the bruises on his face, arms, and legs. They reached her own black and blue hands, which clenched.
She needed to be stronger. She realized it.
Rinn went to the ninja Academy with Naruto, but she had slacked off with her twin, sharing the position of the goof and dead-last. Despite all that the village had down to her and Naruto, they wanted to become great ninja that served the village. Then they would see that she and her brother weren't 'monsters', but humans.
Now she realized, staring at the trembling form of her brother, that if she wanted to protect her brother, she had to be stronger. She had to fight back.
Her eyes, so filled with pain before, was now filled with fiery determination.
She slowly got up, stumbling from the pain blooming from the variety of cuts and bruises on her small body, before turning to Naruto and extending a hand. "Come on, Naru-chan. Let's go home,"
Naruto stared at his sister sadly, taking her hand. They slowly started walking, supporting each other.
As they always did.

*Rinn's right eye is cerulean blue and left eye is grayish violet. I wanted Rinn to be different from the other Naruto's twin OCs, who all have Minato's eyes. Honestly I'm not sure what Kushina's exact eye colour is, cause it looked gray to me for a bit, then it was a bit violetish. So I went for grayish violet.
So originally this chapter was supposed to have a bit of Itachi in it, but I removed him because it wasn't very realistic. When I first wrote this chapter (it wasn't very long ago, but I didn't really think before writing), I just wanted Itachi to be a part of my character, cause ya know, he's my favorite character and all that.
Anyway, I know this chapter was a bit dark, but I had to add a bit on their dark past, ya know? (If Rinn was Mary Sue, please do point it out)
I'll probably publish the next two prologue chapters tomorrow, then (maybe) we'll have a steady schedule. I'm thinking at least one chapter per week, maybe two. I have a few chapters pre-written, so it should be fine. I honestly don't like it when there's a loooooooooooooong time gap between chapters (unless there's a good reason, of course) cause by the time the new chapter comes out I'd have forgotten what happened in the previous chapter.
So I hope you liked it,
Author-San :)

Loyalty | Uzumaki Rinn
FanfictionIf you had to describe Rinn Uzumaki in one word, it would be loyal (sure, hot-headed, impatient and loud would also apply, but we're thinking positive here). She was loyal to her village. She was loyal to her friends. She was loyal to her brother. ...
