Rinn watched Naruto's plan unfold, a smirk on her face all the way. She had been a bit concerned at first, but then everything made sense when the shuriken hiding in the shadow of the one Sasuke threw turned into Naruto.
When Zabuza was standing in shock, the sound of Rinn clapping could be heard.
She smirked wider as everyone turned to her, slowly getting to her feet.
"That was an awesome plan, Naru-chan," she grinned, and that seemed to act as a trigger for Zabuza as he lunged at Naruto with the spinning shuriken in his hand.
Rinn's smile wiped from her face. She tried to use Flying Raijin to get there, but she was still drained from the previous fight. So all she did was stumble forward uselessly.
Her face relaxed when she saw Kakashi sensei shielding Naruto. Kakashi could protect him.
She sat on the ground as Kakashi fought Zabuza, suddenly feeling tired, like her fight was finally catching up to her. She felt her back hit the grass, her eyes staring up at the clouds.
Hm. . . this is actually kind of fun. . . she thought as she watched the clouds move along, No wonder Shikamaru always skips class to watch clouds. It's kind of. . . calming.
"Rinn, are you okay?" Kakashi-sensei's concerned voice broke through her semblance of peace, and she moved her eyes, rather reluctantly, from the clouds and tried to focus on Kakashi's face, which was blurring in and out of focus. His fight with Zabuza's already over? Is the Cowpant-Man dead? she thought blearily.
She distantly felt someone poke her shoulder. "Rinn! Are you okay, dattebayo?!" Naruto shouted, and Rinn winced at his loud voice.
"Yea, I'm. . . perfectly fine." she muttered, her vision blurring even more, and her eyelids started feeling heavy, "I'm just. . . going to sleep for awhile,"
"Wait, Rinn, don't -"
Then everything turned dark.
----
"What's wrong, sensei?" Naruto's voice woke Rinn up from her sleep, and she blinked her eyes open.
"Hey, look, Rinn's awake!" Naruto shouted happily.
Rinn sat up, blinking to adjust her eyes to the light as the others gathered around her bed, other Kakashi-sensei, who was in a bed himself.
"How are you feeling, Rinn?" Sakura asked, surprisingly sounding genuine.
Rinn's eyebrows rose a bit, but she didn't say anything. If Sakura was going to be nice, she would be fine with it. It was a nice change, anyway.
She glanced at Sasuke. Was he going to suddenly be nice too? Said Uchiha was staring out of the window without a care in the world. Hm. Nice to see he cares so much.
She tried to get up, but fell back with a yelp as pain erupted from her back and head. She blinked, trying to clear the sudden blurriness of her vision.
"You probably shouldn't try to get up for a few days," Kakashi commented, regarding her sternly with his single eye. "What you did in the fight was completely reckless! You could've gotten seriously hurt. No wait, you did get seriously hurt."
"Pshh, I didn't get that hurt. . . right?" Rinn stared at the deadpan on all their faces. "What?"
"Not seriously hurt, huh?" Kakashi said dryly, "You broke two ribs, almost broke your spine, had a hairline fracture on your skull. Not to mention all the bruises and cuts." The only reason Rinn's almost recovered now is because of the Kyuubi's chakra.
