fluff and a tiny amount of sad shit
4/8/XXXX (later in the day from the last chapter)
Karl had just gotten finished delivering messages to the kingdom. Every month, the king would send something to the kingdom, no matter if you were a higher class or the poorest person on the street.
Karl loved his job. He was very optimistic and loved meeting new people. He would treat everyone with respect and greet them with joy. Sometimes the favor wasn't returned, but that didn't bother him most days.
For some reason, today just seemed like a bad day. A few of the elderly people he loved to talk to had either passed away or just weren't able to come out to say hello for health problems. It also didn't help that one of the gifts was thrown back at him by one of the upperclassmen and started to talk about George and his dead mom and how they both are bitches.
Of course, more words were thrown at him by this one guy but he rather not think about it. He was walking back to his home which was in the middle of town.
He got to his house to only realize that his door was unlocked. Karl knew for a fact that he locked his door.
Karl knew how dangerous some people were so he carried around a small dagger. He grabbed it while trying not to make too much noise. Karl then noticed his kitchen lights were on.
He was confused but still held his dagger close to him. As he got closer to the kitchen, he saw Sapnap was making food. He quickly put away the dagger.
"Sapnap?" Karl didn't expect to see him. Sapnap looked up from what he was doing and smiled brightly at Karl.
"Your home!" Sapnap shouted and ran over to Karl, only to give him a bear hug.
"I didn't know you were gonna be visiting."
"Sorry babe," that made Karl blush hard. "I wanted it to be a surprise."
"Well it was a surprise," Karl said, still blushing from Sapnap's comment. Sapnap soon noticed that he had been blushing.
"Karl?" Sapnap smirked, saying Karls name in a low, smooth tone. Karl noticed that he had been holding his waist a little tighter, bringing them closer together. Karl was practically dead at this point. He put his hands to cover his face.
"Noooo," Sapnap whined. "I wanna see your pretty face." Sapnap pleaded, making Karl even redder. Sapnap giggled and let go of Karl but not after kissing Karl's hands that were still on his face. Sapnap took the food off of the grill and put them off to the side to cool. Karl finally moved his hands to see what was being made. It was just Mac & Cheese. Karl then moved to the island seat and sat down across from Sapnap who was getting them a glass to drink.
"How was work today?" Sapnap asked. Karl's mood sank and so did his body. Karl hoped that he wouldn't ask, but Sapnap asked every day.
"Well," Karl rubbed a piece of his sweater between his fingers. "It was good." Karl knew he was bad at lying through his teeth but he didn't want to upset Sapnap.
"It was good, huh?" Sapnap knew. Karl was a bad liar. Sapnap grabbed the two plates of food and sat them down on the island counter. Sapnap then had all of his attention on Karl, who had been looking in his lap, not focused on anything. Sapnap reached over the small counter and carefully placed his hand on Karl's cheek, making him look up.
Karl looked on the verge of tears. Sapnap quickly walked around the table and wrapped his arms around Karl. Sapnap started to rub his back as Karl started to cry on his shoulder. After Karl had stopped crying, Sapnap picked up his face and whipped the remaining tears.
